Got 3D or not? Personally, I have never been able to see 3D in any 2D image. :embrass:

Well, you can only see the effect in a photo when you know it was shot with a Zeiss lens, it doesn't work in a blind test.

Here is a "quick & dirty" series showing how little differences there are at different apertures. All the photos were sharpened identically when downsized. No attempt was made to reduce the noise or any other adjustments made. Simply converted from RAW in NX2.

1) F1.4

2) F2.8

3) F4.0

4) F5.6

6) F8.0

Larger images (original) are available in my Flickr account

This test would be better if you shoot a subject closer to the lens to see the effect of changing the aperture...but it is obvious this is a good lens.

Don't think there's a need to do comparison on different aperture. Many had done it and prove it is a wonderful lens.
perhaps more pics will do. ;)

Thanks for your comments. I wasn't testing the lens as such. Really just wanted to see how much flexibility it gives me in a normal shooting scenario. Now I know first hand;)

So in a nutshell, this is a lens that focuses fast, accurately, great for low light and produces highly usable image from wide open. Nicely made and excellent value for the money.

A few more photos to round up my first outing with this lens.

These 2 at F1.4
