canon mount today just arrived so the shops should have them tomorrow!

Nice, seems there is a new shipment almost every week; even though it's for different mounts. ;)

They are actually grey sets. It is just that they will refund to you the cost of any repair by Sigma Marketing over their warranty period of 12 months but you will have to pay first.
Do note that the warranty period for locally warrantied Sigma lenses & cameras is 2 years and not 1 year.
Also, I wonder if Technogadgets would foot the bill if you have to sent your lens bought from them in to Sigma Marketing for calibration due to front/back focussing problems which Sigma lenses are prone to.

it should be 30 mths -sigma warranty with the addition 6 mths online signup - for each calibration it will cause techno -$180 , if buy under sigma it will have at least 1- 2 free calibration .

The small saving isn't worth it.

Yes I agree. It's not worth the small savings.

I have no problem with mine too. So far I think the sigma qc has improved tremendously. Of cause there tends to have some bad pieces, i guess Canon or Nikon is not 100% also.

Anyone can compare the IQ of the S35 with that of S50? Are the rendering the same, bokeh the same creamy? colours and contrast the same? If someone with both lenses can do a test shot wide open with subject ard 3m would be nice.

35 mm and 50 mm will be difference bokeh at 3 meter , 35 mm should be closer if you want to see the similar effect.

Did you tested on the tripod ? Eventhough , i don't think you can get onfocus especially for f 1.4 . I did it on my lens , including microadjust the AF to +10 but at last i still stick to 0.don't worry about yout lens , just keep on shooting :)

One must also be good at using fast glass... f1.4 does not have latitude for poor focus technique IMO.... depth of field so fine if open wide. :)

Too poisonous... Got to feel one at ms color just now. Such a beautiful piece of lens

Thanks for the comments!

I've tried shooting my cats with the focus point on their eyes, but somehow the eyes just don't look too sharp; their nose looks sharper Example -> http://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/842931_10151386635057278_260911768_o.jpg

I think the DOF is too thin at f/1.4 at such distances (~40-45cm subject distance) that the camera focuses on the surface of the eye, but can't get sharpness from the colours from the back of the eye. But apart from that I had no issues with the AF..perhaps I should use af-fine tune +10 only when i shoot my cats. Guess I need to improve on my focusing techniques too!
