since you're talking about 2D applications and not 3D gaming, what's more important here is your system RAM and CPU, not the videocard.

There will be NO system that will give you NO LAG when dealing with large image files and applying calculations. However, you will be much much better off getting a dual-core CPU instead of the single-core and upping your RAM to 4GB from the current 1GB.

Also, Adobe PS performance is currently faster on a PC than on a Mac as the Mac applications and OS are not fully optimized for x86 yet.

maybe NO LAG means the program is so fast that it seems almost instantneous and time lag is negligble. and no "hour glass" icon :bsmilie:

try 8-core CPU with 16gb ram, cs3

 :o 2nd hand stuff??!!!

Not for jeanie, she deserves the best
and brand spanking new

She must as well get a Mac Pro and Max everything out.

Then add that with a brand new 30 inch LCD monitor.

Surely got no problem with CS3, NEF files and whatever else that she might encounter in the future.

Guys just another question. Sony launch their first HD 1080 LCD TV, does it make any difference for the usage of that as computer monitor? As of a TV I must say I am impressed..

Izzit a 1080i or 1080p?
I'm using a 1080p in the US and I'm thinking of getting the same for my family in SG.
Do you have any idea how much it cost in SG?

Skip the mac. Get a Boxx workstation and a buffalo TeraStor (1 TB) for your backup storage.

My point exactly.

What you need is 16GB of RAM, 5 500GB HDDs or 5 1 TB HDDs. :sticktong

what's your current PC's spec? if u find 4gb not enough, why not upgrade your PC RAM instead of buying a Mac?

Bloody stupid junk maker! If the stupid bloody manufacturer makes their 'computers' the same way they create their website, they deserve to remain unknown.

The reason why I'm blasting this stupid company is becos nobody else is brainless enough to create a website that blasts loud music the moment you goto their site. If ever I see such people, I'm gona kick their ass - both the site creators as well as the people who approved it.
