As for those who are alarmed by this news, kindly note that ALL Ni-MH batts will discharge if left unused after a FULL charge. Some of you said your charge is no longer full after a few weeks or months. Frankly, that is normal. I may be wrong but not all 2500s are affected by the discharge issue. If you have the latest batches and they are performing well, PLEASE keep them .. no need to add your name to my list. SANYO is trying their best to do damage control .... er..not SANTA CLAUS ...giving free replacement of all SANYO batts :sweat:

Keep your BAD batts for replacements. Once they have news for me, I will update this thread.

my 4x 2500mAh set only last for 48 hrs or less after fully charged, even when left unused. Have emailed you last week.

I think it may necessary to set a limit like how quickly it drain finish before it consider a bad case.

I have already confirmed my second appt with SANYO tomorrow...will be meeting yowch to collect his bad samples tonight and one more collection trip with Cheesecake tmr morning before I proceed to meet SANYO. Will update if I have news...meanwhile, hurry... request for info will stop at 2359 hrs today. I will not email liao since I have oredi listed them above.

In order to appreciate your continued support of SANYO batts since their early days, they want to offer IMMEDIATE replacement while their investigation continues. Meanwhile, keep your phones on and check your emails regularly.

p.s. We have to be honest about this replacement. They will do a one to one replacement on our defective batteries. For e.g. if you have four, kindly produce produce four at point of exchange - no questions ask. This is where my list comes in. They will prepare the replacements based on the list. Anyone who misses my 'boat' or list after tonight, you have to approach SANYO directly. After the replacement process, I would have served my purpose or usefulness :lovegrin:

Just doing my part, bro ... got your replacements for you too ........ SANYO has prepared the total batts affected with working cells ... I will be collecting ALL tomorrow. My next problem is how to replace for our guys :think: I must be a muscleman to carry ALL by myself :bsmilie: I think I will probably bring a BIG bag :sweat:

I only need one co-operation from all of you. I would need to return all bad samples to SANYO for investigation. So, no bad batteries..no exchange. I get nth out from this but the least I wanna avoid is bring trouble or bad reputation to myself :sweat: We should be honest and not exploit SANYO for their good gesture. Then again, I am confident most CSers are nice photographers :devil:

I just saw this post today...

Just wondering, how does one figure this out: "WORK WEEK engraved on your batts", where on the batteries are they engraved and how do they typically look like?

I bought my batteries in an MO here by simon80 (i believe the nick was this)...anyone bought from him and also faulty?

For me I can't really tell because I keep my batteries in the charger all the time until its time to use them. If the discharge problem is bad, can I tell within one night?

Lastly, Ah V, can I email you first since the closing is tommorrow night and I'm not sure if I have enough time to test whether my batch has the discharge problem - I've a total of 16 2500s.

One good gesture deserves a return in kind, right?
