I'm glad SANYO is doing something about this. I hope they continue to provide good batteries in the forth coming batches. (As those of in the 2100 and some 2300 batches).

Thanks to ahV also for the hard work!

Thanks to ahV for this.

I also thought that going totally flat after 2-3 days was pretty normal. Anyway, I've always looked up to Sanyo as a battery brand. They've had a lot of experience in this field and has a very good track record. I remember the days in the late '80s when they were THE brand when it came to Ni-Cd battery-packs for radio-controlled race cars.

I still have faith in the brand.

Just curious, are all of u having the problems because you are using a non-Sanyo charger?

I have 2300, 2100 and 2500 batts, never had problems with them. Not sure if that helps.

Best of luck guys!

nope... based on the info given by the guys..the charger used varies...whether using a dedicated SANYO charger or professional one like MAHA, the discharge problem will kick in for the 2500s. PM me your batch number and I can do an initial check for you :)

After studying the data given these few days, I oredi know what are the suspected/ affected batches. 2100s and 2300s should be fine...keep using them and let them 'die' a natural death due to the number of expected charge cycles. Do monitor your 2500s ..if they do not give you a reasonable length of usage ..the discharge has surfaced then... I hope that clarifies.

I do experience quick discharge of my 2100s..but I dont really mind since I charge them the night before I shoot..

Yup, my first batch of 2500's were all on Sanyo charger, and they performed badly after a few months. I then bought a Konnoc charger, thinking that my 3-year old charger has started the twilight years. Pleasantly surprised is that the batteries are still behaving the same, and discharge-recharge does nothing different. I then concluded that it must be the batteries, and at that point, AhV has started this post! :) Timing just nice for me!

Last Saturday was a wedding, again the 2500 performed badly, having charged fully ALL my batteries the day before or the same day, my flash died at about 30 shots! ONLY 30 for the 2500! I was using the SB-80DX.

ha! u got it lucky!

my F1 batteries stunned me further yesterday afternoon! just charged in the morning for a sunset shoot in the evening, only to find out its LOW BATT after around 10 shots! good thing i charged all 3 sets of 2500(only 1 set is super duper fast). wat blinding speed! they must have slipped on lemon or something... mux have broke the speed barrier... bravo!

my 2100 exhibits the same winning F1 formula. how exciting!!!

cheers!

by the way, i'm spending on 2 sets of MAHA 2500. see how it performs...:)

noted .... how long ve you used them ? are they at the end of their charge cycle ? If not, drop me an email. I will feedback to SANYO accordingly. Keep these 'BAD' 2100s and pass them to me when necessary. If they are confirmed BAD, SANYO will probably replace them :) I am sure they are keen to know y your 2100s are suffering from discharge issues too.

Well, a point to note is that Ni-MH batts self-discharge if they are not used...of cos, at a reasonable rate lo... cheers!

hmmm.....your 2500s and 2100s ( just like alechim) are suffering from such fate.... drop me an email with the necessary details if you have not done so. I am sure SANYO is keen to know about their 2100s too

Cheers.

AhV, i emailed u sometime back. ;)

cheers!!

my 2100s seemed to be old stocks.. sad..

I just came across this thread this morning and will go home to check the batch no. on my Sanyo 2500s which certainly are faulty.

I charged 4, used 2 on my wireless mouse and they lasted a month. I was quite shocked as the disposable ones that came with the mouse lasted 6 months! Then I used the other 2 and these lasted less than a week (I don't even use my PC everyday).

Thanks for your effort in this, AhV.

hihi ...dun be alarmed unnecessarily .... If you have working batches, good for you. We are the early supporters and users of SANYO 2500s. Unfortuntately, we had experienced this quick discharge issue on our batts. As for you, my advice is keep using them on your power hungry digital equipments and drop me an email if sth happens. If nth happens, we are happy for you :)

My current 2 sets suffer from the rapid discharge bug too. No such problem when I use the 2500s from Konnoc or the 2300s provided by Fujifilm. A side issue is how long should we expect the Sanyo batteries to last. Mine earlier batch of 2500s died after 80-odd charge cycles.

BTW, AhV, I've PMed you previously, as your mailbox rejected my emails.
