Hi thinkvision ,why the local service center sux...?
Any bad experience:thumbsd: with local service center ? :dunno:

cons only:
ISO800 noise
availability of good lens : prime, LE, and FA*
local service center sux...

I can get 5D+,24-70L, 24-105L+70-200IS or D200+70-200VR, 18-200VR in 2 hours.
but I used 1YR to pursue K10D+FA*80-200, 28-70,,,,,,

Hmm, the ISO800 shots that I've taken aren't half bad...
Why do you say that about the local service centre? Would like to know the reason for your rant. Shriro also represents Hasselblad as well and I've not heard of any complaints about the service level.

The K10D only just came out late last year, whereas the other DSLRs you've mention have been on the market for quite a while. If you are really unhappy about Pentax, then go ahead and get the Canon 5D or Nikon D200, since they are readily available as you say. They are fine cameras too, but be prepared to spend A LOT more than the K10D. And to my knowledge, the VR lenses you mentioned aren't always immediately available and anyway you shouldn't even be making a comparison with the 5D since it is a FF camera.

5D is a FF camera :bheart: :sweatsm:

I can get 5D 4 FREE & not in 2 hours.

GOOD & CHEAP THING COME 2 THOSE WHO'S WAIT like U. :bsmilie:

Do u want 2 sell ur 10D to my friend & buy 5D from me ? ;p

uh. I think it's just "soft".

Yes, which is a common side effect of too much JPEG compression (detail loss).

If you compare the JPEG crops with the same shot taken in RAW, you'll realize it's not the lens or focus, but the JPEG compression that causes the "softness".

This is common to all DSLR cams, but the Pentax cams are a bit over-agressive with the JPEG compression.

ERh.

You're right.

But it's not because of JPEG compression - it's becauase Pentax CHOSE to do it. (Silkypix processed images look the same.)

That's my point... Camera manufacturers can choose what level of JPEG compression they apply. Pentax chose to use a higher one than other manufacturers, which means JPEG files will look softer than the competition. Switch to RAW and you eliminate the problem, and can choose what level of compression to use when you convert it to JPEG.

U got PM, please check & tell me the story:D . Thank you.

Theres nothing wrong with posting a true account of one's experience with any particular company. If the company feel their business is affected by bona fide complaints and grievances on the internet, the onus is on them to correct and improve their business practice.

Staying quiet will only serve to embolden the company to 'push the envelope' knowing they will get away with providing crappy service to cut costs.

Good story teller who've got a great look like Jim Carey in Hollywood movie "LIAR ,LIAR ,LIAR" :bsmilie: :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

to all K10D users:

how do you overcome the image softness when using JPEG, apart from shooting in RAW?

it's one of the major things that's holding me back from getting it.

Do you want to tell us why or are you just going to stick to one line and not explain anything?
