When you need speed, the more you have to stick with the 50mm, cos the 50mm are the fastest glass around! :bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:
I'm a 50mm guys even on the M8; half my lenses are 50mm.

half your lenses? ONLY HALF???

on a 1.6x crop sensor, 35mm, otherwise if i go full-frame in the future- 50mm :)

I'm usually alternating between 50mm & 35mm... ok with either one, usually its more of a case of trying to bring the "unloved-for-the-longest-time" lens out to get some "exposure"...

No right answer. Each to his own.

My choice would be 50mm. Always!

I'd use my 28mm Canon on my Russian Zorki

I feel 35mm is the best suited. Not too close like the 24mm, thats too wide for my feel. And 50 is way too cropped. So 35mm is best for me.

Actually i find that i only buy 35mm and 50mm lenses. Apart from one 21mm, i do not find myself interested in other focal lengths.

Between 35 and 50, its a question of mentality. 35 is more about composition. 50 is more about what to include exclude. Although the difference is abt 2 steps, i have come to learn it actually is quite a difference.

50mm as it forces me to compose my shots better.

I shoot full frame and I prefer the 35mm as it's wide enough to capture the environment that the subject is in. This gives context and meaning to the shot. If I need to, I just go closer and get a tighter shot. The 35mm does not introduce much distortion even if you get in close. On wider lenses, facial features may become exegerated when you get in too close. And there are a lot of 'fast' 35 mm lenses to choose from.

Mine a 45mm f4. that is my only rangefinder lens...

took a 35mm to an event shooting, kenot make it... shud have brought my 50
everything i need to crop as i cant get too near to the subject

50mm on my M9 and crop all I want ... heh

Hi All,

for me, I will see the location/situation, if it is around tight spaces eg. markets, I usually bring a 21mm. Others, it will most probably be with a 35mm.

50mm all the way, tried 25, 35, 50, 90 and only feel comfortable with the 50 :D

OT (my apology). could anyone identify which lens DAH was shooting in this vid? (look at the last few frames... must be either a 35mm or 28mm lens). What an awesome shooter he is!!
