AF 17-35mm f/28.-4 (D)
AF 50mm f/1.4
AF 100mm f/2.8 MACRO(D)
AF 70-200mm f/2.8 APO G(D) SSM
3) flash
Program Flash 5600HS (D)
External Battery Pack EP-2

You don't have any lenses right now?

Additional 5600HS, 85mm 1.4 G (D).

Yes, SSM is like USM in Canon.

You have got 10K budget now? :D

Cheers!

just started to read up on KM today... learn abit at a time...

i dun have a lens as yet... tats y lingering around Canon and KM...

10k i dun have... 5k mayb... can extend abit...

most likely i would get a 28-75 1st, den 70-200, den a 17-35...

I would include a Sigma 50-500.

should be 28-75, then 17-35, then 70-200 mah.. btw I'm looking at Sigma 70-200 also.. hopefully, next time they revised this lens to digital version, they also have HSM for Minolta..

hsm is wat?

actually i anticipate i will take the fireworks 1st... so 70-200 more useful at that time rite.

sigma i think would be alot cheaper, but does it have the (D) function?

and drudkh... 50-500... is that really BIG??? the range is damn dynamic...

If really tight on budget, go for zoom lens. Some 3rd party lens are really value for money. Value for money refering to quality/cost ratio.

I don't see how you can shoot fireworks with a 70-200. A 28-75 makes more sense.

Cheers!

so the 70-200 is useless? for eg, shooting from esplanade bridge to the marina fireworks thingy, use 28-75 is better? then solve my problem liao, y would i need a 70-200 in the 1st place? den 28-75, 17-35 den get a prime or macro ok liao... but den again the 50-500 damn tempting... :D

If U got $$$, go for wider aperatures, can shoot better portrait. ;p

yup, fireworks always shoot at 28mm for my A1, and still not wide enough at times depends on location and how big is the firework.

70-200 has its uses in sports, nature, event photography. I would suggest to you to get used to the 28-75 before deciding if you need any others.

Cheers!

ya.... 1st thing 1st, the camera.. no camera, no lens...

After reviewing my shots for SFF, most of them are around 30-50mm range on my Dynax 7. A 17-35 would be needed if a D7D is used.

Cheers!

Be careful of razor thin DOF when you use them.

Cheers!

so using a prime with low f, or zoom with low f, or using a macro with low f better?

i would suppose, primes are better... zooms allow us to stay stationary.
