I was unaware of any problem, after i dropped my Konica Hexar RF, since it's inside my bag, landed in office carpet. But i was socked later on, to find the vertical and infinity RF are misalign pretty bad.

Anybody has experience with this cam and problem? Any suggestion? i read about DIY RF adjustment in the net, but i'm not sure with level of difficulty and risk... Is there any KM/Sony service center can handle repair/CLA? Or is there any recommended repairman in SG experience with Hexar?

Thanks!

I don't suggest that you bring to Sony/Minolta/Konica service centre for your Hexar. Don't think they will have any technician who knows how to repair RF.

RF adjustment is pretty simple if you can find the documentation to do it. If you are not comfortable, you can bring it to this place stated in the post here:

Or you can PM fatigue and check whether he can help you to do it if you have the instructions.

Hope that helps!

i asked P & G once if they could repair hexar alignment. the boss emphatically replied bring the camera down and we'll give you a quote.. so i guess if you really need to.. and fatigue cant help you.. then you go adelphi P & G. ive used fatigue before.. he's fast and a nice guy.. and most importantly.. affordable.

feel sorry for you >____<
let's try and go to ask P&G, tonight?

I recommend Mr Tay! I just had a long conversation over the phone with him, and i must say.. unlike others.. he will explain to u in detail n if u shld/shld not do the repair. He could have earn my money, but talked to me abt the pros n cons if i were to proceed. Can really feel his passion! Give him a call, perhaps he can share with you what u shld do.

going to PNG sure makes u at least $100+ poorer, and not very confident of a good job....

I dropped my Hexar RF in China and also ended up having vertical RF misalignment (perfect RF b4 the drop). How I got it fixed? one gentle hammer on the top plate and it is as good as new again, serious. (but don't try on yours though :bsmilie:)

cocoa... hammer? omg... i won't dare to hammer it if i have a hexar >_<

@Cocoa... Hammer?? :bigeyes:
Oh.. even if it will work... i don't dare to do it myself...
oh my poor little baby....

Thank guys for kind inputs...
I will contact one of your recommended repairman..
Thanks!

Alamak! not using a real hammer lah. I merely used my powderful palm to "hammer" the top plate (right on top of the VF window) and viola

I also recommend Mr. Tay,
I'm fully booked the next coming weekends and I'm not an expert on this camera.:embrass:

I bought mine with the mis alignment came, sent it back to the dealer to adjust twice and to the agent once, cost me more than S$500,now the problem still here, better buy a leica.

my Hexar which i just bought off the forums recently had a vert and horizontal alignment issue. I sent it to Mr Tay at De camera consultant. He took it. adjusted it and gave it back to me in 20mins. it cost 65 bucks.. but its good and ULTRA fast service. you cannot beat that man.

Hi...

Thank for all feedback... mine, when just bought, also has slight vertical mis-alignment...
but it's getting worse after drop. I also sent this to Mr Tay, and he also repair it in front of me :D. It's fixed and I'm running a test roll now... Hopefully i can develop the roll in this 1 or 2 days...

funny, i dropped mine yesterday and it fixed the vert alignment problem that i've had for the last few years (from when it fell down a whole flight of stairs at a overhead bridge in hk). I wonder if 2 -'ve makes a +'ve for the hexar rf?
