I don't think the tech had done the mistake, the camera was died before i went to NSC.

Maybe i should stop posting.... just wait for news.

Yeah.. but it might not be so bad that it is unsalvageable. If there indeed is a bad short then it is highly likely to be due to some faulty components and unlikely to be due to moisture.

I think that i also very stupid to tell the NSC staff that i think water get inside my camera when they ask how can they help me.

From that moment, they don't even bother to see my warrenty card and original invoice.

Should had just reply i don't know.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Makes me think what I will do if mine failed. A lot of reviews says that the D300 IS weatherproof. Maybe have to ask Nikon to define what is "weatherproof".

http://www.letsgodigital.org/en/camera/review/159/page_1.html
"Nikon D300 Weatherproof housing
The high quality housing is almost identical to that of the D200. Of course it is made weatherproof to enable the photographer do his job in deserts or during some rain showers. The viewfinder is further improved and offers 100% view at a 0.94x enlargement. Naturally the D300 works entirely with the extremely advanced Nikon i-TTL flash system. The shutter has been guaranteed up to 150,000 pictures."

Time to get a D3 if you shoot in the rain?

Since Leong have posted his reply, in all fairness, we shall also post what NSC got back to us.

We in Clubsnap will not and it is also not our job to pass any finding nor judgment but to present the views from both the consumer and retailer/manufacturer.

We suggest Leong23 to take it up with Nikon Singapore or escalate to the appropriate agency if he thinks he is right. However, please do it offline.

I will be closing this so as to prevent any further claims and counter claims, speculation, accusation etc.

This is what NSC informed us:

On 7 Apr at NSC Mr Leong informed the technician that the camera was splashed with water on Sat 5 Apr. NSC technician found water droplets and water marks inside the camera, the PCB, the viewfinder has water droplet and moist, the LCD has water marks. The PCB was also burnt. The mirror is lock-up. Mr Leong also told the technician that on Sat he (Mr Leong) tried to blow dry the camera and also requested for the technician to see if NSC can blow dry and salvage the camera. The technician after some checks found that it would probably need to replace about 70% of the parts, in the mean time a second opinion amongst the technician and technical office staff were sought. The situation was explained to Mr Leong and a solution was offered to allow Mr Leong to buy another D300 at a discounted price. Mr Leong declined the offer and mentioned that he would probably claim insurance.

With this I shall close this thread and both side can settle off line.
