school days

Being in school, I always had the feeling we all had this one direction we always had to follow. Always kept in check from the way we dressed to the ideas we could think. As an individual we are the not individuals but more a reflection of a perfect citizen.

Camera Info:
Canon 5d Mk 2 | Canon 16-35 f2.8L Mk2 | ISO 100 | f 10.0 | focal length 16mm (3 tile 3 exposure Hdr vertorama blend with 2 ev spacing)

I have a soft spot for monochrome works and this hits the right spot. :)

Wonderful series from AMK ITE. Thanks for sharing!

no problems

Superb BnW. The silhouette makes the picture. I do think that the picture will benefit from a crop to exclude that bottommost distraction though.
Hmm thats true! when I uploaded it to instagram, it looked really nice as a square crop.

The Fountain of Wealth

Here is something I think I did a pretty good job with! I don't really have that many of these kinds of works where I sit back and think.. damn.. did I really create this?

Hope you like it too as I worked pretty hard getting the distortions to look as natural as possible which proved rather difficult.

Camera Info:
Canon 5d Mk 2 | Canon 16-35 f2.8L Mk2 | ISO 100 | f 11.0 | focal length 16mm (5 tile 4 exposure HDR/Digital blend mixture Vertorama)

Architectural Blend

You'd be surprised that this is a single raw XE-1 image processed via lightroom and photoshop. I didn't do anything really complicated except some curves and colour corrections.

It's good to have a second camera available to shoot tighter shots when my main is doing its thing..

Camera Info:
Fujifilm X-E1 | Fujinon 18-55 f2.8-4 IS | ISO 400 | 1/30 sec | f 7.1 | focal length 18mm

z_life_in_c_town_by_draken413o-d6mnx9p.jpg

Life in C Town

Chinatown.. a place where fates intertwine from a lost tourist girl rolling her trolley along the streets bypassing a middle aged man pushing his goods to his nearby shop and before you can even blink your eye, an elderly resident zooms by on his electric bicycle to get his routine black coffee. All this happening while an office lady paces steadily to the giants in the sky about to start a day of dreary work.

Life begins when the light of the sun hits Chinatown.

A composition I wanted to take for sometime but unfortunately they will be building a covered walkway so at the moment its quite messed up.

Techno Dharmic Nirvana

The morning version to my other photo, Techno Dharma. There were humongous clouds everywhere and getting sight of the sun was a waiting game.

I waited for an additional hour before I saw the sun peek through for 2 mins before it hid again.

Camera Info:
Canon 5d Mk 2 | Canon 16-35 f2.8L Mk2 | ISO 100 | f 11.0 | focal length 18mm (2 tile vertorama digitally blended for 5 exposures. Top tile had an additional two more Long exposure layers blended in)

buddha_tooth_progression_by_draken413o-d6mr6mq.jpg

I looked at all of the photos I took of this temple from the same location and put together a little timeline to see my progression in the photography of this temple.

The earliest image is on the left taken in August 2011 and the latest on the right taken yesterday morning.

I guess every photographer should look back at their works and see how much of a progression they have made over the years.

Street Circuit

Formula 1 is back in Singapore along with all its road closures and inconvenience. I took this really late around mindnight as I was walking back with my girl after celebrating our 11th month together.

She's a keeper as she walked 5.2 km with me without complaining!

Camera Info:
Canon 5d Mk 2 | Canon 16-35 f2.8L Mk2 | ISO 100 | f 8.0 | focal length 16mm (6 tile, 5 exposure hdr panorama. I did crop away alot at the end to get a nice composition though..)

z_right_time_wrong_place_by_draken413o-d6mxegu.jpg

Right Time Wrong Place

I was actually set up the opposite direction to shoot the full moon rising out of the cityscapes which did not happen due to cloud cover however the sky erupted a glorious pink so I gathered my stuff and got to composing in the fast fading pink light.

Unfortunately this was the best composition I could muster within 20 seconds of fiddling around trying to get my big azz lens through a grill..

Camera Info:
Canon 5d Mk 2 | Canon 16-35 f2.8L Mk2 | ISO 100 | 4 sec | f 13.0 | focal length 24mm (3 exposure digital blend)

Vergence

Look up the world is moving. Thats how I feel as everything is ever changing and the only thing that is constant is the end.

Moon Mission

Some planning went to shooting this image. Had to go on a day when the moon would come up in this direction as well as hope and pray it would be a cloudless night. Well, all the constellations aligned and I was able to shoot this amazing composition in my neighbourhood too!

Camera Info:
Canon 5d Mk 2 | Canon 16-35 f2.8L Mk2 | ISO 100 | f 10.0 | focal length 35mm (4 exposure digital blend)

Marina Bay Sands

Marina Bay Sands as not seen before. An angle that would be pretty hard to get to on normal days except it was accessible briefly for a little while as the road was closed.

Camera Info:
Canon 5d Mk 2 | Canon 16-35 f2.8L Mk2 | ISO 100 | f 10.0 | focal length 16mm (8 tile, 4 exposure hdr panorama)

Inner Ion

While editing this image, my razer deathadder started acting weird not being able to click so me being the genius i am, took it apart.. now its not working anymore and I'll have to make due with wacom only.. its tough because im left handed so all of my keyboard functions are now controlled by my right hand which is very alien...

And i keep reaching for my non existent mouse! =(
