happen to have any link to the article? can't access straitstimes on my side ... HC is a school deep in tradition, if the school really treats the issue lightly it's as good as flushing the many years of hardwork and contribution from dedicated people down the toilet bowl.

well, at least he did not huntum back the kid and well, earned the respect of the other passengers...

we can't say all of HCJCs student are catfighters, neither all bus drivers are saint.. but in this scenario, we can say, from bystander's report, the bus driver is the victim, the kid is the plaintiff... :devil:

The uncle is not that old, ok? He's only 53 years old and from the picture in the papers, he appears to be quite stout and seems capable of giving back to the student what he deserved but he chose not to otherwise the story would have been reported differently.

i remember a youtube video few months back about a guy hitting a old man... sbs bus, the 'videographer' is at the bus stop... not bad wor, the uncle put up a good fight... lost but nevertheless, defended his pride... :sweat:

When contacted, Hwa Chong Institution said the school 'deeply regretted this unfortunate incident which resulted from a misunderstanding'.
They said they do not condone unbecoming behaviour.
The school said the student is a good student and well-behaved and is distressed by what happened.
They are currently 'working closely with his parents to help him manage his current emotions to overcome this difficult period'.
The school further stated that they are providing him with guidance.

Don't know. Think it'd be very hard to comment about any double standards, if present at all, unless there are cases dug out whereby similar incidents happened involving kids from different backgrounds.. That went unreported.
