from the Desire S..
all photos are straight out of phone, no further editing (i'm also lazy to edit..)

High ISO:

anyway, the phone camera's ISO can be manually adjusted from 100 to 800 in 1-stop increment..
i find it quite useful..

taken from moving bus with the in-built effects (this one is vintage warm).. too bad it was a bit slow, the older lady wasn't captured the way i wanted to..

Macro with flash:

Great picture clarity. I must say its really a great mobile phone.

long time never visit the forum, due to school..
anyway, i am still loving my phone.. and these are some other photos.. the sepia and B&W effects in the last two were added by the camera's own effects.. as usual, no other adjustments made other than adding tones..

i actually focused on the brightest part, and the camera adjusted the EV and thus the image was made like this.

it was quite hard for me to take the last picture, as the sun was really bright i couldn't even open my eyes to see the LCD..

thanks, mate! yes, it is a great lil' phone.. a strong and durable one, too!

two more..

the tone was added in-camera, using the camera app's quick editor.

this is something that i really like about this camera, the black and white image will give almost the same feeling as what i usually get with my RF set-up.. especially that noise and slightly low resolution. iirc, this one was taken at ISO400..

HTC's is darn good...was on Desire HD...

but not the battery life of it..

Oh sorry.

Yup, the only weak thing is battery life, but that's expected..
anyway, if you don't turn on 3G all the time and don't use keyboard sound+vibration, and the UI vibration, it will greatly improve the battery life.. i can manage to almost a full 2 days now (though i don't play games too much and save all my reading in ReadItLater).. hope it helps!

anyway, it has been nominated for the best smartphone award:
Global Mobile Awards 2012

it competes against other flagship phones!

Some old shots from last year's Genting trip.

Wow, those are some nice shots!

haha, actually this thread was meant to be my own personal photo diary with the DS, but nevermind, we shall open this thread to all!

the desire s specs look very similiar to my hd2 o.o

are u having problems with the noise?

best thing about your HD2 is its ability to boot to almost any OS, save for iOS and BB.. haha!
hhmm, not really.. except for its FFC, but i don't really like taking self shot anyway..
being a film photographer nowadays, i don't really put so much attention to noise.. no offense, but to me, noise is slightly overrated.. it only gets irritating if it is way too much like the most FFC in phones, or those low end phones.. as for the usual suspects, i think the noise is bearable and doesn't get in the way.. yes, you would loose some details, but it's not that bad, right.. i mean, you could still look at them and see what's in there.. the only problem with the DS is its slightly bluish auto WB, as seen in post #4 pic no 3.. but again, it's not so terrible and it only happens in some tricky lighting.. setting up your own WB will solve the problem.. miss the manual WB setting, but who expect that from a phone, right? maybe not now..

so yeah, i don't really have problem with noise.. ISO 100-400 is perfectly fine with me.. 800 would sometimes produce too much noise, but still usable.. i must say it is almost the same as ISO1600 in my D70..

thanks for dropping by, allen.. long time i never visit that expose yourself and random threads in Kopitiam.. :)

yeah, kinda miss CS after almost half a year absent.. last time it was the most visited page, nowadays it is the book page that i visit..
i'm just hoping that my DS will eventually be upgraded to ICS, if not i have to root it, or buy another phone.. maybe HTC Edge or HTC Ville?

just saw your HD2 page, i like your photos, man!

some new shots, as usual, no sharpening whatsoever, just some effects to set the mood..

this was taken in a split second.. the bus suddenly started to move when i took the picture..
still love it anyway, it's not sharp at all, but i have a feeling i can't describe about it, which makes this means something to me..
