Consolidation to be expected according to some Japanese friends. Pentax is a much smaller entity compared to Hoya. Shades of the Konica and Minolta merger?

That's the first impression I got after I saw them together :bsmilie: Good for Pentax and us Pentax users I guess, at least we won't end up like KM (which is Sony now). Tokina, Kenko, Slik... are all part of Hoya, but their names still remain. I'd expect Pentax still remain as Pentax for a long time.
