detritus: I did scrutinise the camera before buying, but i was a newbie for camera so i assume that the dial no problem after turning it. I seldom use macro & sports mode, more over the problem appear when u use the camera longer and if u really did play with the Sports Mode and Macro Mode. Hahaha.

I do agree tat this prob hard to see that when purchasing, coz normally we won't go turn turn the dial to try the function when buying the camera, more over it is the more you use, the more it appears.

frankly, i think its the luck of the draw... suay suay kena one that is problematic. imo, the dial is meant to be turned. if pentax ever came up with a statement that says "user should not turn the dial excessively", i'll never accept it.

this is really the only place i have heard of this problem. AFAIK, it had not been surfaced in pentaxforum or any of the overseas pentax community sites. or has it?

Yea, same problem! :( don't know why pentax don't check the dial mode before selling.
I just went down to Emjay. Kevin says that this is a problem with the contact point/pins on the dial and body. He will adjust it and the problem should go away. In queue for Kevin time so may take a few days.

The customer service center is all by Kevin? :o peifu :)
