How secure is your job?

You go make machines not babies

To be really secure, u dont need a job at all. In short, financial freedom.
Spend within your means, have saving that auto generate some income.

Real Monk don't need $ right..... Hehe
My Dog also don't need $, but enjoy his life.

If you have $$$, let it works for u every minute and u are secured tiil death

Like most people, My parent are not rich, I haven't strike toto, my job pay peanuts, so ....... Work till dead.

Why do we need to have secure job? If you own the company, doesn't that make your job most secured?

that's worse. you have more stress because of market factors. you have more things to worry about too. and it's not secure because one wrong move and the entire company can collapse. how old are you? looks like you're still too young to understand.

and if you're actually older than 25... and still think it's that simple... then i can safely say that you're screwed

I won't say my job is secure but the line I am in is definitely stable. Should the industry becomes unsecured than there's greater things to worry about instead of just losing a job.

Not much use if its not making money.

If it is, then, got headache keeping it that way and trying to keep your under paid staff.

Well, sure... If you do it well.

If you don't, then debtors will come, your assets will be auctioned off, and you will be the most secure bankrupt in the world. All of them are pretty secure. :bsmilie:

I am much older than 25, things ain't as complicated as you think them to be. It all depends on how much guts you have to drop it all, out of your comfortable zone and try to do something even bigger. So many ppl have succeeded, so what is stopping you from thinking that you cannot be like them? Are they any way better than U? Or could you have considered too much and just could not leave your comfortable zone behind? ;)

No one's saying that you cannot succeed or that the risk is not worth it - I fear you are misunderstanding people's comments.

You made a frivolous statement that being your own boss means your job is secure. That is an obvious mistruth, and you were being corrected for that, not anything else. Please do not put up fictionary arguments to argue against if that is not a point being bandied about.

That said, I have to agree that someone's age has nothing to do with the discussion here, and I have no idea why kei is bringing it up.

There is something call Private Limited to protect you from that. ;) If you set it up right, the debtors can do very little. Oppss.. Too much info....

Than you will start looking at things from the other side of the fence.

Yes, but you'd be jobless , by every definition of the word , no? How's that for job security then? :)

Bro, you are right you will be jobless but you still can start over again. If you are working for someone would that happen too? Retrenchment?

Another plus point is you will have done much more and your experience will be very valuable to your new employer. Yes?

But than as your own boss, you will have much more benefits than any other job right? Plus your get much more out of it.... especially $$$$ and much more satisfaction. Well my statement is from my own experience and sentiments on the above.

It is all about the way you view things. ;)

I agree about the risks.

But if you own your company you can effect changes. If you work for someone you have to depend on the boss' decisions.

I was working in a sunset industry a few years ago. The boss was sitting on his hands not doing much to change to turn the company around or he didn't know how to. There were sackings and the few left behind was waiting to die. It took me a year of trying before I got another job as the gloom was industry wide and we were being replaced by technology.

Eventually I became self-employed and doing still life photography. Although the market conditions haven't been great I can only blame myself if I can't be competitive or if I haven't worked smart enough or hard enough. But I can effect a change instantly without calling a meeting or consult anyone. There is the freedom to decide my own destiny within certain perimeters.

Stay hungry, stay foolish. :bsmilie:

Theoretically yes.

In truth, few if any will award signifocant work to $10 companies. Neither will banks extend credit, if they do, it will be at exorbitant rates or with additional collateral. Means the rest of what you own is also up for grabs.

Bro,

I have still a lot to learn as a micro businessman. My learning curve is steep and long.

The market place is changing so fast and so much.

But it gives me great satisfaction to see some brothers in CS doing so well in photography as a profession.
