For Songkran, as long as you're in the immediate area - tourist or otherwise - you're free game. :bsmilie:

Sounds like an advertisement instead of a news article.

Sounds more like the author is writing for the layman.

well, just wondering, how much water can the E-3 takes to go kaput... lol...

Can't find anywhere that states tis... like time, amount, pressure... etc...

then the lenses, does the front element coating wear off if washed by water...
:bsmilie: I don't know, but send me an E-3 and I'll make a few tests for you. Of course, after that the camera is mine in case it still works... (which it will)...

Don't bother about lenses, I have what I need for the tests.

BTW, is this a troll message? Because if not, I find the question a bit strange.

Oly does not say it is water proof, but weather proof. Read the specs.

  • Weather = rain, not deep sea diving.
  • Preassure = same as where you are right now, reading this message.
  • Amount = normal to moderate rain. If the seals would be 100% water tight we would not be able to zoom or focus. The lens must move in and out, as you probably know as well, so some air must be moved in and out to prevent vacuum.
  • Time = the same time I can stand the rain. I get tired of it before the camera gives up.
