how much is K-x? Where to buy?

p.s. if you posted all this in the newbies corner you would be roasted, torn apart by 5 horses by now. be thankful for friendly pentaxians.[/COLOR][/U][/I][/B]

i don't recall having so many of these random question threads in the Pentax sub-forum until the K-x :bsmilie: I guess it's good that more people are picking up Pentax DSLRs but sometimes the questions make me want to pull my hair.. I think the best thing for a beginner to do is really to show up at the Pentax outings and ask all the questions you have. I think the seniors will be more than willing to share some tips, since it's so much easier and less frustrating to explain and learn face to face in real time.

Yes. Precisely. On the one hand, I am really happy that the number of Pentaxians has swelled. On the other hand the number of spoons that needs to be juggled is quite a bit, and everyone would help each other out by reading the stickies and many good articles on the web and on the other sub-forums here.

TS, its not that I don't believe you, from what you have posted and asked, it seems you are quite lost and sending back and forth messages is just not an efficient way to communicate.
I suggest you just set to "GREEN" mode for now and play around with the camera. Once you get an idea of the camera, refer more to the menu and online info. Then meet us up on the Pentax Outing on the 19th (even if its just at the Changi Jetty for a short familiarization session). Hopefully all your questions will be answered there. It will be so much easier to explain in person.

I concur. Dunno why, but this is one rare instance where I provided info to guide a newbie along. Several more questions later, my initial hypothesis proved right and I beat a hasty retreat. I'll just leave the tutorial to the more patient tutors...

And then you can treat the tutor breakfast or bumboat fare. ;)

Sometimes giving help on forums to total beginners is like playing pin the tail on the donkey. No matter how much help is given, the mode of communication just isn't suitable, the guy remains confused, people get frustrated, everyone looks bad.

Don't say I not nice haha. ;p I'll be a totally free man before the start of July and I want to take photos around Singapore when I'm back. If you want, PM me, make a new friend, let's go take some pictures together and I'll answer all of your questions in person. :)

its just a trend... also easier to ask here then in person mah... you get better/helpful response here rather than those rude answers...

maybe i should also start a new thread just to test test water see what kind of response i get...:bsmilie:

"Old owner of K-x" "incoming old pentaxian", "another oldbie question on K-x" "oldbie need help on k-x!!!" "please help...oldbie here" , "dust in VF!!!", "Recommend a filter", "is filter a must", "hooray old K-x owner", im running out of new ideas...:bsmilie:

ok i better stop else all the newbies will *hoot* me... :bsmilie:

anyway to all new or old or whatever.... if you have a question...please do post here, many here are more than happy to answer your queries... be it in words or in person...

i want to pengsan....... i think you have selective vision.

i. am. sure. there. is. a. page. in. the. camera. manual. showing. you. exactly. what. everything. on. your. camera. does. it. is. a. very. pretty. diagram. that. looks. like. your. camera.

no, zoom is a silly concept given by camera companies to explain it to hapless consumers.

in serious photography, zoom is meaningless. we have prime lenses, which means they can't zoom. but a 200mm lens is different from a 50mm lens, etc.

like i said, go to library and pick up a book. you will spend less time asking felix buddy questions, and get much better answers. not that felix is not a good buddy, but he can't possibly write a book for you on the internet - no one's that free.

Thanks Bro.

I'd say that focus is off. The stem which is more forward is sharper than the flower.
Many possible factors :

1. Wind movement on plant
2. Focus moved when recomposing after locking focus
3. front focused lens

less than 1m. AF. slight wind... all the flowers came out like this :(

Your focus is at the stem instead of the flower bud. Never mind can try again without the wind . . .

Keep on practicing and sooner or later you will get it right . . .
