how much is K-x? Where to buy?

If focus is absolutely critical and you are not short on time, give autofocus in live view a try.

Press the info button to magnify the liveview image to make checking the focus easier.

don't understand what u mean by the first point. got example?

as for your picture size, i think u have to understand something: u take at 12 mega pixels, if composition of the pic is slightly off, u can still salvage. u can do a bit of editing, u can crop, u can edit, u can shrink.

u take at 5 mega pixels, the pic is too small for u to salvage anything. u can try but the quality will be awful.

thanks bro.. i trying to auto focus on ...hmm say a dark ceiling with a few spot lights ! cannot focus liao

What are you trying to take? Post pics here for us to help . . .

By asking like that without pics how to help you?

I guess the area you are trying to focus is not contrasty enough. Our cameras need some thing to focus on. If you try to focus on a white wall or plain white paper, AF sure won't work.

dark ceiling with spotlight is unlikely to cause that problem. the spotlights will provide enough contrast for the camera to AF.

my suspicion is that the room u were trying to take a picture in is simply not bright enough. orh lu lu pub / disco type with dim, warm lighting. for that type of scenario, have to use flash liao.

.......(Bokeh is the quality of blur resulting from a shallow depth of field, not an effect in itself) ..........

I'm no pro but....in Japanese, Boke is the blur, Boke-aji is the quality of the blur.
Bokeh can be used for both the blur effect and the quality of the blur.

Anyway, the word is not in meriam websters,... maybe that's why it's ambiguous and people try to define it..

thats the problem of modern society, trying desperately to define everything..

isnt it enough for just knowing wat it is?

very cheap leh.... even the lens pricing are good.

Found a US website selling the Pentax k-x for US$449 only... but offer ends 5th July. American Independence sale:

http://www.fumfie.com/product/270.5/16301_Pentax_K_x_Digital_SLR_With_18_55mm_Zoom_Lens__Black__KX_

The body alone is US$399...

I wonder if this is real or a scam cos it's selling much cheaper than Amazon.

The maths don't add up.

USD499 x 1.4 (xchg rate) = $698.60
$698.60 x 1.07 (GST) = $747.50
$747.50 + Shipping (Est. $35 via Vpost) = $782.50

Store shipping by air is USD49.

No local warranty. Unknown dealer. No testing of set before purchase.
Basically not worth the time, effort, risk and no benefit at all.

You wrong lah... US$399 for the 18-55 kit. So price will be S$559. Add in 7% GST + $35 freight = $633.00. You save $159 as compared to Spore cheapest price of $792 for the bundle.

Lol, but sorry, I don't understand you.

S'pore $792 bundle comes with 18-55mm kit lens.

USD$399 is body only.

Bring back is usually ok.

At the end of the day, depends on each person's threshold of savings vs risk.
