Wow, average seems to be around 5000 since quite evenly distributed. Total 1400+ people voted... so multiply by 5000, that is $7,000,000. I think we should get Canon/Nikon/Sony/etc to throw a big party for us since we contributed to much to their revenue.

Yes, same here. Just a few weeks into DSLR.

Damage is already $3k. Pelikan case, lens, lens pouch, accessories, filters, etc.

Now thinking about 24-70 L or 24-105 L

Ya.. I also thinking of getting 24-105mm L and 100mm Macros lens too....

Ive been serious about photography for about 6 months now. Got my 40D around new years. With the cost of the camera and all of the gear i hve purahces since then. Yea, its been over 5K already (US Dollar). And it just keeps on going!

Most of my friends "under declared" the amount they spent on their toys to their CFO, so whenever I'm go over to their place, I'm always careful not to mention or ask about price.

the poll was "how much have you" and not " you have within" so hitting $15k is quite achievable over time.

It's nice to know there're so many people out there who've been infected with the BBB virus. I think i'll go work for nikon, canon, tamron, sigma or some other camera/lens company when I graduate. Then can get discount on equipment too.

I've spent about s$2.1k so far, with plans to up that amount with a macro lens, a decent tripod and a fast medium telephoto. All on an internship pay of S$500 a month. I'm going to have to eat paper shreddings for lunch.

Oh dear... it was just a couple of months ago I voted $3K - $5K - it's now in the $5K - $10K range... and this is within err... 8 months.
