How much has people paid for the D90

I got a quote last week from a shop for D90 with 18-105mm kit lens: S$1477, GST included with local warranty.

How high has people paid for their D90 a year ago? I just wonder how much price difference can happen to a good camera like the D90.

I intend to get one when price comes close to my budget. It doesn't matter whether it is going to be replaced by a new model.

Err... asking a question like that is a bit akin to rubbing salt into wounds to those early buyers. :nono: :bsmilie: Granted D90 would cost much higher a year ago, it is only natural to assume/ or believe that the reason for the price drop is probably due to the impending release of the successor model. Which is still largely speculated. I won't be surprised if the price is going to be much lower a month from now... the trouble is, can you bet on it that there will be ready stocks then?

I know maybe you do not want a DSLR that is singing its swan song. If that is so, it's better for you to wait for the successive model then... But I doubt it is going to be any where close to S$1477...

I was a D70s, D80 and now a D90 user. Looking back, it does not matter to me what price I paid for these camera. What matters are the joy and contentment when I press on the shutter button each time. The images are priceless eventhough its not well taken. If you felt you paid a slightly higher price but is within your budget, try to shoot more and the feeling of "wallet pain" will go away.

Gotten mine this February for slightly above 1.6k. LBL2009, you do have a superbly good quotation there.

Product line-wise, there's been rumors of a D90 successor being spread around, but no concrete news yet, let alone a probable release date (if there's ever gonna be one in the first place, I tend to be skeptical~).

Bought mine in Nov 08 for slightly above 1600. Seems like a good investment.

that's a crazy price! in less than half a yr since i got mine price drop by almost $200..

I got mine on January 2009 at S$1745, for me, it's worth it

I think you can get around this price at most of the shop. Two days ago, I walked pass a camera shop and stop by a sale man. He gave me a quote around this price too. His opinion was a new model is coming out.

i got mine for $1900 back in jul 09 with the same kit lens. but my friends paid around almost 200 less buying from other shops. i didn't buy it though,my wife did.

so you've got a very good deal my friend. honestly, i don't bother if the successor is released soon. D90 is a very good cam. so i say, grab that deal

Regardless of what price people paid for their camera, I am sure they got it at a good price at the time of purchase and they were happy. How much it is selling now is not relevant.

Only thing we learn is that a new camera's price can drop by 25% or more within 2 years.

So hang on to our gears and buy only when the dream camera is near end of production. Make sense?

Some shops are still quoting that price (called two days ago), not sure about free 8GB (most likely included) and the cleaning kit...

It's best to call again just to be sure....
