I love it in taiwan. The people can be really friendly and cranky and there are also the more extreme hooligans. SG ah beng are just leg hair compared to those in taiwan.
ppl there are generally more civic minded and 'automatic' compared to ppl here. It's one of the place on my list to retire to.
I lived in Taipei for 2 years in 2002 & 2003. I agree with you but I have these to add.
1. Many people there have guns.
2. The ktv there is like paradise but averagely NT$2000 per hour in Taipei.
3. Taiwanese buy car like we go to buy camera. Just bring cash and put inside their pocket.
4. You will find Kui chi lak (court girl in Taiwanese) there is easy.
5. Life is more colourful there because Taiwanese are generally creative people.
6. Chio bu there not dao at all
7. Betel nut and whispie are something that taste good when take together
8. Not only cheap cigarettes but free lighters when you buy cigarettes
9. Nice sceneries
10. Big lotto payout
11. Very hard to get around if don't know chinese
12. TP is never something you need to wory. Just speak English to them and they will let you go.
13. Nice underground boxing ring
14. Most of the Taiwanese food taste the same to me.
