How is 512MB Hagiwara CF ?

Anyone has any comments on the 512mb Hargiwara CF cards ? They are very commonly available and cheap, but how's the performance and reliability ? I cannot find much info on these cards on Google though...

I intend to use it on my 300D and G3.

I bought a Hagiwara 128MB CF last year and used it on my trip to China. Apparently, it gives some invalid media error on my Nikon at low temperature. My other Sandisk CF doesn't give this problem. So far, i try to keep away from this brand.

no red. the other one is brown. heard that the brown one is much faster.

I am using it on my 300D with no problem. Just that it takes quite a while to upload images to my notebook but I can live with that. (well, that's the opportunity cost I reckon )

Hi, I believe that the transfer speed is somewhere around 4-5MB/s. Maybe you are using it with the digicam itself, not a USB 2.0/Firewire card reader?

ya, u r rite! I tried with the USB card reader today and the uploading speed has improved much. Thanks.

FWIW, I finally bought the 512MB Transcend x45 card. Costs $40 more than the Hagiwara, but heck, for something you will likely to be using for 3-5 years, it's not really an issue.

I tried testing the writing speed of 3 CF cards on my 10D. 9 black frames in RAW were shot off . The time taken from the moment the 9th shot had fired till the red light next to the CF door stopped blinking was recorded.

Transcend 256MB 30x ----- 41sec
Transcend 512MB 45x ----- 37 sec
Hagiwara 512MB (THNCF512MMA) ----- 45 sec

Has been working fine for me. Am working with 6 of these and cycled them unteen times already.
