Hi guys, just wanna ask around how you guys transport your equipment around when going for dive trips.
As we all know, the housing is bulky, and I assume that you don't put them in together with your dive gear?

Btw, where in Singapore can I get a Pelican case?

Cheers!

i put my housing in a box in my dry bag. camera, batteries etc goes there as well. not the so called proper method, but so far ok.

cant help on the pelican casing part, but many others here do know.

I buy tupperware boxes from $1.99 shop - 1 box for strobe, and 1 box for housing. You can line the boxes with bubble wrap or foam. Put all tupperware boxes inside my dive bag - which is a hard suitcase - contains everything ie. reg, bcd, fins, mask etc etc - can check-in at airport w/o problems. The wheels on the suitcase also make it easy to transport! :D

For short Dalang/Tioman trips.

Used to put my Pt-10 or Pt-15, 1 DS125 strobe, battery charger, WAL/macro lens in a Pelican 4500 case.

everything goes into a huge kick ass prolube roller back with all my gears.

Can get Pelican case at Lucky plaza basement where all the scuba gera shops are.

If need to fly

Gears, dry stuff, charger goes into the samsonite. camera, casing, lenses hand carry.

Thinking of getting a Lowepro or Crum------ back pack any recommendation ?

For me, everything, from strobe, housing, cam, charger, batts, arms, tray, o-ring grease, brushes, silica gel...
all in my seahorse se720. (cheaper ver of pelican).

Regradless of trips, whether nearby or overseas.
used to just carry them all in my lowepro bag, but now a little too cramped

No, got it Blue Manta.
But Dylan helps them. Dylan is in this forum, can ask him if you want.
However, I will not reveal the price, cos I booked for it last yr, long time ago, that was before the price was adjusted.

it's an alternate brand... (can't remember the name) but it's just like pelican..

i can get a pretty good price for a MO (min 5 pcs)... if you interested i can find out more

Hi Mookie,

I put everything in Pelican 1500 case. But it depends on what equipment you have. Alternatively, you can use Lowepro backpack. But bear in mind that you probably get salt on in your casing if you don't clean it thoroughly. So maynot be a good idea to share with your SLR or whatever you have.

You can get Pelican casing many places. I mostly go Paris in Lucky Plaza and Sea & Sea in Adelphi.

cheers!

They usually appear in spy shows when they need a ruggedized, water proof, shock proof case to transport delicate equipment like optics....

Take a lookee here

oooohhh pretty nice... do u guys use pelicans to store your cam or u also use them for your dive equipments? i suspect it's gonna be damn ex

Hihi..
been a long time since I returned here.
But yet I am dealing with Seahorse cases in Singapore and Blue Manta is the distributor in South East Asia.

So what is the difference between Seahorse and other brands? As compared to the most popular brand around, we are about 8-20% cheaper based on size to size and Recommended Retail Prices. On top of that we have Lifetime warranty from any damages to the case, I.E. Cracks and broken parts if any and will replace it for you one to one.

Sizes wise, we have mini cases for you that can be hand carried along that just fits i.e. canon camera with housing or to the popluar SE520 case that fits a PT-10 Olympus housing, Inon strobes and arms, with batteries, accessories all thrown in. (What I'm using, so i'd know) Or the slightly bigger ones SE720 where you can store twin strobes if necessary....so you see the sizes vary from needs of each individual.
Also color too comes in Gun-metal, International Orange, Yellow and Black.

We also have another series which is slightly more heavier but one of it's kind, fire retardand boxes. So for those that are so hard up to protect your valuables and are willing to go to extremes ... here is the box for you.

Of course this fire retardand boxes are used like to protect O2 cylinders etc..
things that are sensitive to fire....that might cause explosions if not protected properly.

After reading all this still interested and want to see it for yourself? Well we can always make arrangements to view it. Pls PM me with your contact and name and I'll get back to you. Cheers.

hmmm...
i wonder now... after posting my replies..no one seems to have carried on the thread? Is it me? hahaha. :dunno:
