Hi there,

I would like to know how to include images in my post that are not stored in CS gallery and still be shown in my post as an image, not as a link.

OMZ_35mm_at_f16_crop.jpg

The above is an image stored in CS gallery and the bellow one is externally stored but it never turns up as an image.

OMZ_35mm_at_f16_crop.jpg

As a link it is no problem to include the external link, the only problem is that in that case it is not opened automatically.

Is there any other way to do this?

Thanks!

Should work with the
tags. But your blogger link doesn't seem to work. Could it be the link is too long? Or maybe blogger prevent hotlinking. :D

Unfortunately not so simple. The tags won't help. My blog link is working for me from several different computers.

The link is long, I agree, but I don't think that is a problem. This image is not working either and it has a shorter link.

view_photo.php

For the above, the tags seems to be removed and automatically converted into a link.

The full length of the link is _http://bp3.blogger.com/_qsWSRs689jE/RmnCNTsXN3I/AAAAAAAAAHE/C1OD0LVa-8Y/s1600-h/OMZ_35mm_at_f16_crop.jpg which is just right. Looking at the image properties shows the same, copy it into the address field in a new explorer window opens the image in the explorer window.

Note, the underscore sign before http is entered by me to enable showing the link as a full length text. The underscore sign is not in the real link.

Maybe because the myphotoalbum one does not have the file format tag behind, so it is not recognised as an image file.

For the blogger problem, I found the answer. Hehe.

When you input this link into your address field, the image will open right? Look at the image properties. The link is different.

can be done but need to use the address of the image instead of the web page

Thanks! How did you figure out the "-h" is causing the problem? What is the meaning of "-h"? Testing it in the explorer's adress field, when the "-h" is removed a smaller image is opened...

...but pasting in the CS will give the originally uploaded size. Pasting in with the "-h" is not working at all, like the one below.

The URL is the same except for the "-h".
Again, I added the underscore sign at the start, so it will not be converted to a link for this question.

Again, thanks very much.

I didn't really figure it out. Just tried it and it works. But for me, when the "-h" is removed, Firefox didn't display a smaller image but ask me to download it.

Actually, I believe it has to do with blogger's workings. If you noticed too, the images in your posts, the small ones. Look at the image properties, they have a "-g" tag. :D

I don't use Firefox so I don't know. With MSIE it opens a smaller image without the "-h" and the original size with the "-h" tag.

I don't see any "-g" tag, only "-q" at the start. The small blog images are not different to the larger ones except the "s1600" is changed to "s200" which I suppose is the maximum image size.

The myphotoalbum link does not work at all, maybe because download is disabled from myphotoalbum.

If you notice, the link you provided (http://olyflyer.myphotoalbum.com/view_photo.php?set_albumName=album09&id=IR_wire_remote_001) leads to a webpage, not just an image file. So you will need to get the URL for the image only.

Right-click the image on that page, select Properties. Then look for the image URL, with .jpg behind.

IR_wire_remote_001.sized.jpg
Yes, that was my mistake, I did not include the full URL. But including the full URL to the image does not help, only the myphotoalbum advert is shown, or can you see the image?

I can see the image. :D

Edit: Now I see the advert. :D Yes, maybe because you disabled downloading.

OK, Now I am sure it is so. Myphotoalbum.com disables downloading by default for every non-paying member. In other words, the ad is false, because it is not a free photo storage site. :thumbsd: I will just let it be and not use it any more.

Thanks for your help.

So I guess you gonna find another host or something? :)
