so bought anything?

Many shops are out of stock for 70-200mm lens regardless f2.8 MKI or MKII or f4. Can anyone have the latest update?

As a tourist, suggest you go to big chain stories instead of shops in tourist area, like Tsim Sha Tsui.

For 2nd hand market, you may check the local web for 2nd hand market and trade in person there in HK, though I do not recommend doing it as a tourist.

Try to avoid those shops with SONY/CANON/NIKON/TAX FREE neon signs. In TST, go to Tin Cheung which is a very reputable camera store which deal with both local and gray sets. Price might not be the lowest but definitely is very reasonable. The important thing is that you should always know the price of the items that you intend to buy.

will be going HK soon... nice info!

Yes! Got the mount ring for my 70-200mm f/4. I went to Shum Shui Po after consulting my HK friend cos that's the best place for PRC made 3rd party accessories. As advised by darr (thanks again bro), I looked for the HK$88 one (some shops even sell for HK$78) but the quality is quite sub-par. So I went for the HK$228 version, which are much nicer.

I look-see look-see only lah :bsmilie: I did go into Tin Cheung at TST but they didn't have the mount ring I wanted. Nice sales people though, very friendly.

And I have to second what CS TAN said, always know the going price before you start shopping. That way you can shop with confidence that you won't be 'chopped'. Worst case, pop into any of the Internet cafes and spend about HK$15 for an hour of online research, assuming you didn't do your homework before heading there.

any1 know where is the HK benro distributor located?

Go to Sham Shui Po Apliu Street 瑩記, you will find all brands of tripods there. Price is quite low as well.
For detail address, go to:

I remember seeing Benro tripods in Sham Shui Po but can't recall at which shop. But I do recall the prices were either comparable or better than in Singapore.
