HEHEHEHEHEE I am going Hong Kong on 18 - 21
time to put on buy buy buy mode.

Prob getting my 14-24 there plus a couple of
other desired lenses

Bought 2 14-24 from Time's Square Broadway at 12700HKD and a 12-24 at 6500HKD and paid using credit card. Both cheaper than Wing Shing and Man Shing.

Anyway I flattened the boxes and carried the lenses thru in my camera bag. Didn't have any issues at all!

Just got quote from Wing Shing on the following

Nikon AF 50mm f/1.4D HK$1950.00

Nikon AF-S DX 12-24mm f/4G IF-ED HK$6600.00

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED HK$12900.00

Nikon AF 85mm f/1.8D HK$2550.00

Nikon SB-800 HK$2750.00

12-14mm only HK$200 difference. Maybe those lazy and can part
with the extra can just buy from anywhere? :dunno:

Opps sorry i meant 14-24mm f/2.8 haha typed too fast.

Does anyone know how much a Nikon D200 cost in HK?

What I usually do is to get a 'baseline' price from Wing Shing and then go to find cheaper quotes from reputable shops such as Broadway, Citicall and Fortress along the same Mongkok stretch.

This is what it looks like

I am not sure if I can walk through all shops as I've only got 1 day there. Will be in macau after that. So have you got any idea what is the price they sell in SG currently?
Cheers. :D

The stuff that you are looking are quite common items so most of the shops in Mongkok will have them in stock. As I have mentioned before, go to Wing Shing to get a baseline price and then go to see if you can get a better deal from other reputable shops. You should be able to get what you want in one afternoon.

Thanks for the advice CS. While reading the threads above, I am kinda worried about the versions of the gear,
i.e.
1. is there any revisions for Canon or Tamron lens? How to I ensure?
(will be getting official set, since international warranty)
2. What about the camera body hardware versions?
(Local warranty for official set and I don't stay, might as well get grey set)
3. Any hidden costs? i.e. lens cover, manuals, straps.
4. Was told that I should always check auto focusing (as a baseline) for body. Any advice?

My cantonese not so good, afraid of being conned by them. keke..:bsmilie:
If any of the bros here has any kind of experience, appreciate your sharing!
Thanks in advance! ;)
