Is there any HK web link for canon lens.

Going to HK this dec, thinking to buy some lens.

How to check whether the warranty card is really belong to the correct lens?
Any word or thing I should take note when buying lens (i want international warranty one). Don't want gray set or local warranty.

I'm aiming either
EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM
or
EF-S 17-85mm f/4.0-5.6 IS USM

which one will you all recommended?

as I already has EF 24-85(the new len will be replace this, feel 24 is not wide enough for my Canon 400D), and EF-S 55-200

I just compared prices with a Hong Kong shop that has online sales: http://www.tincheungcamera.com.hk/home.php?currency=USD&language=en. Seems like in general, its no longer a bargain to buy Canon stuff from Hong Kong. If there are any savings, it only amounts to a few 10s of dollars for lenses that are below 1k. Sometimes, might even be cheaper getting them in Singapore.

Hi, you can't really rely on the online price because they don't update their prices (and stock) regularly -> I got this info from other photography forums.
You can get a better price if you walk in and bargain with the salesperson face to face.
In addition, the lenses sold in HK are still much cheaper than in Singapore.

Quite true. If you know how to speak cantonese, you will even get a better deal.

Canon 530EXII - anyone knows how much this cost in HK now?

Quite true. If you know how to speak cantonese, you will even get a better deal.

Even amongst cantonese speaking people, there is a great variance in the intonation.

For example, KL Malaysian Cantonese is much different from Singapore Cantonese. If you get a KL, Hong Kong and Singapore cantonese speaker in the same room, you can pick up the subtle differences immediately.

The last time I was in Hong Kong, they could tell straight away that I was not a local.

The only time I managed to mask my nationality was in the GuangXi region of China. The GuangXi storeowner thought that I was from the neighbouring GuangDong region! :)

Anyway, I agree with you that it helps to speak the Cantonese Lingo in Hong Kong, especially when it comes to buying things.

Take note that Tin Cheung's online price is not their lowest price. When and if you are at their shop in TST, if you pay cash, they will drop the price from their published prices further.
