i will only be going over 20th-22nd april, therefore dunno yet, but as my time is limited, i will just hang ard the TST area. do pm me if u gg after me and want to check out d7k price. i will just ask casually when making a purchase.

Hi cs and one952,

Beside the two shop you recommend Tin Cheung Camera (天祥攝影器材) and Echo Photo & Audio (回音), any other shop to recommend?

I plan to get D7000 body or kit. Any brothers just return back from HK if you know the price for D7000 body and body + kit len. Kindly let me know. Thank Q

I call up DCfever in HK on 10 April 2011, the staff did not want to reveal the price over the phone. I explain my reason but the staff politely reject me.
So I need help in getting some camera shop, hope my luck could get the answer I need.

Thank Q CS and one952,

1) for the recommendation for the shop.

2) Dear one952, I am travelling to HK 21-26th April. Look like we might meet in HK. hehe...

3) I contract my relative in HK, most shop sold at HK$9700 = S$1616. Singapore TK photo selling for S$1679. Note Based on exchange rate S$1 = HK$6.

Thank again.

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has bought Westcott Apollo 28" Softbox and Pocket Wizard TT1-TT5 (Nikon CE-version). I have been to Shum Shui Po before.

I'm planning to get the two items any useful advice, information, Pocket Wizard warranty, and specific branch to go to.

Thanks in advance.:)

Hi Jay, sorry I can't help you directly, but I've been looking around Hongkong a bit, mainly in Mongkok, haven't found a good store for larger lighting modifiers such as umbrellas and softboxes yet. Did you manage to find a place to buy the Westcott Apollo or do you know of other shops that are good to buy these? Thanks!

Anyone going HK can help do a check on the price of a non-warranty set Sigma 300-800mm for Canon? Price.com.hk doesn't seem to have prices from the popular stores. :(

Hi CS,

Anyone can recommend shop at Hongkong selling the studio lighting accessories.
e.g. accessories for Bowen, Profoto, Elinchrome ?

Thanks :)

For online price checking, you can try

D7000+kit
D7000 Body

Thanks for the website, i actually searched for 70-200VRII nikkor, its 18k hkd.. so after exchange rate is around 2997 sgd. is it still worth buying over at HK ? because I am only going at around 15th of May which is rather late.

can anyone advise me?

Thanks ! ^^.

Sorry but is the price of camera flashes hiking up too??

Bot my tripod at 瑩記 Apliu Street (鴨寮街):

Hi ppl, anyone just bought teleconvertor in HK recently?

I'm wondering is its readily available in those bigger stores like Suning, Broadway, Fortress or need to go to WingShing or TinCheung?

I think HK price HK$2440.

Hope can get an answer cos I'm not going but my in-law will be there next month.

Thanks!!

What kind of accessories do you have in mind? There is a distributor for Profoto and Elinchrome in HK.

http://www.elinchrom.com/distrib.php?agent=20

Not the original ones, as it's still expensive.

I am looking shops in HK selling 3rd party (made in China) softbox or beauty dish that using bowen or elinchrome mount.

Anyone know please advise ...

Hi there, does anyone know if the shops in HK airport itself sell dslr and lenses and if their prices are reasonable? If I were to transit in HK (from Sg to Korea) for a few hours and would like to go to shops like Tin Cheung to buy some lenses, how much is the return transport to and from the airport and also do i have to pay to get thru the customs to go out of the airport? Roughly how many hours do I need to be able to go down to shops like Tin Cheung and back to the airport?

Thanks!

You will need at least 4 hours min. to have time to travel and shop (5-6 hours preferable). I have replied your other post over in General Tech Talk section.

Hi Paniku,
No, haven't had any good shops or place to go.
May have to abort the Westcott idea and go visit Sham Shui Po again :bsmilie: and try to go Profoto and Elinchrome.

I just came back from HK... and bought a 16-35 II lens from Man Shing.

Service was excellent. The sales staff gave me the lens to examine and try on my camera even before i said that i wanted to buy it. He left the lens with me whilst he went on to process my payment, so i had no fear of becoming victim of the 'bait-and-switch' technique. The entire process was honest and above board. Although i may have gotten it at a somewhat lower price if i had gone for a grey import from one of the small shops, now i can rest secure knowing that i got a truly brand new lens and not a repackaged second-hand item.

I applaud Man Shing for the good service and pricing, and of course CS Tan for the excellent writeup and recommendations. I would have no qualms recommending Man Shing to forumners looking to buy genuine photographic equipment in Hong Kong.
