Hi wmayeo,

is this better? i increased the exposure a little. but mainly my idea was to show the low-light conditions cos it was taken on a rainy morning..
so it has that cold, wintry morning kind of feel to the pic..

and nope, the bite was done on purpose.. the intention was to make the setting look more real-life..

The photos look great!! Don't look like its shot by someone new to Food Photography. By the way, if possible, able to give some tips on what lighting did you use for most of these shots? Thanks man!! =)

Hi jasonhooha,
thanks!
i only started trying photographing food 3 months ago.. so that's considered a newbie right? :P
my shots are all taken with natural light coming from our balcony window. i used a big diffuser to soften the light and shadows.. hope this helps!
cheers!

durian puffs! first attempt at choux pastry.. it was a very tiring process. thank goodness my hubby shared the 'stirring' work!

all i can say is... don't trust youtube videos.. the chefs make it look too easy!

for our next round, we will definitely definitely use an electric mixer!!

triple choc brownies! sinfully rich.... but suprisingly simple to make :)

A mistake looking at the brownies at this hour....

i must admit that i have a ridiculously sweet tooth! and i love chocolate!

my non-bake chocolate tart.. this was really easy to make!

haha.. it's always good to keep a stash of kinder bueno at home.. i have a huge pack as back up for times like these ;)

i baked brownies again today, but decided not to post any brownie photos in case i bore the people looking through this thread.

tried shooting something else instead.. which strictly do not qualify as home-cooked food.. because they come fresh from the land-of-smiles!

yups.. my housemate just came back from thailand and brought yummy goodies for me... great tea-time snack that goes well with kopi :)

i've been pretty sick the past couple of days.
so what's the greatest comfort food when you are feeling sick?
for me, it's porridge.

i was flipping through a jamie oliver magazine, and i saw a recipe for asparagus risotto with mint and peas.
and i thought to myself. what the heck, risotto is somewhat like porridge, so i made myself some risotto minus the mint and peas.

comfort. food.
