Holga Cameras

Hi all,


I'm interested in getting a Holga camera, should I be hitting the local stores or does it work out better if I order it via Amazon?

Am thinking one with a fixed plastic lens and built in flash plus some color filters will be good enough.

First time venturing into this so have no idea where I can purchase film sheets and develop the prints as well.

So will appreciate any advice given. Thanks

The FAQ is brilliant, and exhaustive (I didn't know it existed, but now that I do, I'll come back to it more often now that I just got my own Holga).

But. It misses out the first question Yayne asked:

I'm not sure of how many stores in Singapore carry Holgas/Lomos, but I went down to Objectifs at 12 Liang Seah Street (near Bugis) and I came back with more than just a Holga. The people there are knowledgeable and friendly. That means they know what they're doing when showing you the different cameras, and are very willing to help out a new alternative photographer. In fact, they've welcomed me to email them if I had any sort of question regarding the Holga, or alternative photography in general.

I think you can look around at the CS forums, on amazon, etc for a bargain on the Holga, but give Objectifs a shot, just for a look-see. Have fun!

can try online at www.perlyinc.com or local stores like tripled at burlington. ruby at peninsula has lomos as well.

Ans: Well... you can try making ur own... or, if you are not good with your hands, you can try getting cameras from cash converters (those old 35mm PnS fixed focus cams), or get lomo cameras from CSers like perly or jcryan55 (PM him) in Buy/Sell. Your DSLRs can be used for AP. See Qn2 abt cross-processing.

since a holga is considered as a lomo... and yes, to answer the obvious, u can get it from perly or jcryan55...

Thanks a lot people. I'll check it out at objectiffs. Apparently Kinokuniya sells holga cameras as well (based on findings on Google)
