Thanks for your advice bro. I'm still learning. The sunlight through the windows are horrible on the right! So i added the "shadow" to make it look like the door. maybe not the best way to tackle this huh?
MC: Errrr.... usually not.
The trick is to shoot it so that the "blowout" is kept at 9 on the greyscale, and then rest of the image is dodged till it hits the 4-5 on the greyscale.
This comes from traditional darkroom techniques.
Let me have a go at this again and based on what you share, see what the end result is like.

MC: Last resort, is to just crop to vertical. Play around with the crop, a square or a traditional vertical crop might also work....
I cheated with the following pix. I changed the "blowouts" from the view of a ground floor garden to a view from a high building. There are indeed many many ways to cheat
