Hi all

I'm now in HK on a biz trip. Walked and asked ard. Was quoted the following for Nikon 70-200VR:
S$2350-S$2400 : Local warranty or no warranty set;
S$2400-S$2500 : International warranty set;

I think GB from Skyestang is S$2600 rite? Any suggestions? :dunno: I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon so hope to hear as much from everyone soon.

Thanks in advance.

Go to Wing Shing (Mong Kok), they quoted me
AF-S VR 70-200mm f/2.8 IF ED = HKD 11,600, abt SGD2,400
Internationaly warranty as they are authorised Nikon dealer.

Direction for you to get there.
Man Shing :
106 Tung Choi St (next St to Sai Yeung Choi St South)
MTR-Mong Kok Stationn, exit D2, walk one block east, and turn left.

Good luck.

This is Nikon equipment discussion not discussion on B/S. Thread moved to consumer corner

HK 11600 including 2% for using CC? I was quoted HK 11900 after 2% which is abt S$2.4k too. :) I tried Tin Cheung too but sold out. They have this Tokina 12-24mm selling @ HK 3366 after 2%. But it comes with Japan warranty. Is it valid if I bring it back to SG?

Don't mean to hi-jack your thread.
How about 18-200 mm VR and 10.5 mm

Is it cheaper in Singapore or HK ?
Is it the same shop as mentioned above?

Hi guys

Me back from HK. Gotten the 70-200VR @ S$2.4k with international warranty. Was playing with it early this morning. Gosh...damn fun! But really heavy. Maybe my hands r weak. Heee...Also gotten the Hoya 77mm HMC filter there @ ard S$80. And Manfrotto tripod from DC fever @ S$160. Ermmmm and some silly stuffs like the hand grip that can extend to become a sling, extra cover for my LCD screen. *sigh* huge retail therapy!!!

Ok to answer some of your questions. 18-200VR is still available in HK. Selling @ S$1200 with international warranty. I have the shop's namecard so if u'r interested, just PM me. As for 10.5mm, not sure coz didn't ask. Sorry man.

Nokia 12-24 all sold out. I walked along the entire stretch of Nathan Road to Mong Kok, all sold out. Tokina yes but Japanese warranty. 70-300VR is out there. 70-200VR no more <S$2.4k due to limited supply. Managed to reserve this piece from this shop beside Tin Cheung. I would highly recommend that shop. Two guys to look for. Oliver and Sam. Very helpful too.

Since when did Nokia came into the lens market????? The 12-24 can fit into Nokia phones or what?

Nokia 12-24 ??

hmm....must visit Nokia show room tomorrow :bsmilie:

seriously felt that lenses pricing here are jacked up alot. dun understand by ... 70-200VR are all going for around that kinda price in USA, Hong Kong and Japan. then why is it to much more in Singapore.

Hahaha sorry abt the Nokia. Jia lat. When i speak to my frds, i also said "nokia 70-200VR" and they will go "HUH? WTF???"

Aiyah pai seh lah...;)

Anyway I have replied all PM w.r.t. the shops in HK. I have included their phone number so please call them before leaving to book a set. Trust me, there is very high demand for Nikon lens now.

Also, I conclude that len/tripod/accessories r cheaper in HK. Filter/flash r either same or more expensive than SG. Camera body only local (HK) warranty.

Hi,

Bought my SB-800 in Man Shing last 1 Dec @ HK$2680. Before I pay credit card, I ask specifically if there's 2% surcharge and their reply was there isn't. So I paid HK$2680.
Don't know if this 2% credit card surcharge apply only if more than 5K.... :D

Man Shing and Wing Shing (the bigger shops) would not charge extra for use of credit cards (for any amount). Whereas smaller shop may charge the extra 2% (their prices may be more competetive).

You can check out DC Wave at Sim City (Shan Tung Street in Mong Kong) which has got good prices although range is limited...e.g. Canon 30D is only HK$7,600 (about S$1,520)
