Great... maybe next time you can help us buy stuffs from HK. :D

Not meaning to stir things up. but just sort of find it a teenie weeny amusing.
Isn't it a bit a hard to find an English forum site in Hong Kong?
It's just like trying to find a Chinese forum in the US.

My view is that if you are going to go overseas, I think it will be nice to try experience the local culture there. It will definitely be easier to click with the people there if you speak their language and all. I certainly dun mean changing everything about yourself just trying to fit in, but as least just make an effort to appreciate the local flavour. Even in a photography forum.

I understand, but you probably agree that it not easy to learn chinese (for someone who comes from a family where no one speaks it, not even dialect)........., I just can't remember the tones, especially in manadarin. Cantonese however sounds easier to learn, though they told me there are six tones! :-(......I am an old man (93 years according to some poll result) and can't remember that well anymore, people say I suffer from Alzheimer, but I also forgot what that was......:-(

Then the writing: this is another big hurdle........though I am pretty much a visual I do tend to remember characters better.........

Hi, I have been there a few times, and know many of the shops around Tsim Tsa Shui........as well as some on HK Island, but they tend to be more expensive.....

Can meet up when I am there, and managed to clean my apartment.........

You guys/girls have it easier, probably already have some chinese language background......ok, let's meet up there, that would be nice! David Chan has a nice shop, but that's about it, pretty expensive, but his goods are good quality.

hmm..my primary school teacher told me that cantonese got AS MANY AS 10 tones, but the commonly used one got six. If you go search around the net, this number can varies from six to eight too...confusing huh?

But then, I didn't learn cantonese by remember all the different tones, unlike mandarin where u have to learn han yu pin yin first.
