HK buy... NOW!

Congrats Moonlight, you sure have got a armful-load of stuff here-Nikon, Recesky, Pentax lens-caps but the best buy appears to be the Tamron 17-50!
Can you bring all of them in as cabin luggage in your flight home? ;)
yes... best buy is the 17-50... but not for myself.... for another bro here...
the next one is the 77mm cap... b&h USD 11+ 40 shipment... now only about SGD13
Recesky one is less than $20... so buy for fun....
Nikon one is just save about $50+... for my friend...

all stuff in the new nike backpack as cabin luggage with my big laptop and my k-x... cannot affort to check in these item...
lucky my wife ask me not to bring my 16-50... heavy like mad...

hw much of the tamron 17-50 in HK??

hw much at local??izzit any shop oso almost tat price at HK??

local not sure... heard that about $600
a few more shop about that price... need to ask around... there are shops a little bit cheaper but have to be careful...

then for the wty, you need to go to the service center to change their 3 or 5 year local wty to 1 year international wty card.
Kowloon Bay station... walk through the shopping mall, ask around with the address given on the local wty card, will have free shuttle bus to the building...

based on Moonlightsg's post above, i would suggest that if you're not familiar with HK and not familiar with buying camera equipment, better don't fly there just to buy camera stuff.

might kena kotok, might be a grey set, warranty procedure is troublesome, u may end up spending 1 whole day just hunting for the right shop and settling the warranty - so u have to be on a free and easy tour - u won't have time on a guided tour.

my personal rule is to buy from overseas only if i can't get it locally, or if the local price is ridiculous, and only if its an item where warranty is not likely to be a problem.

yes... will get chop carrot head is you sound rush and not perpare homework...
that why i didn't go wong kok area which normally others go..
so i go this old shop which well known for honest... not just sell you for the $$...
i go in ask for ring flash.... the owner say have the Metz one... but recommand try to use the normal flash which i own first before buying .... also teach me that when the object is too near... P-ttl will not work and the flash will use full out put...

that why i say this may not be the cheapest shop in HK... but can trast...

free and easy is needed...tour confirm cannot go one... where got time to change wty card which open only office hour!
