eh.. how to compare sigma 17-70 and tamron 17-50 2.8? both seem to have decent performance

Both lenses are very good ones. The Tamron is a constant F2.8 lens, so it might be a better choice if you prefer a constant 2.8 lens. The Sigma 1770 has its advantage at the tele end.

Why not consider the Pentax DA*16-50? It's weather sealed, got SDM built-in, 1mm wider, and it's a Pentax

If really money is an issue, just stick with the kit lens lah. It's been serving alot users quite well, might work for you too :)

The Tamron 17-50/2.8 is good, slightly better than the Sigma 17-70 at wide end. Too bad its not available in K mount (yet)

Heard the PK mount version is in production already. Might be available soon. Here is a photo I saw from some Chinese forum:

Notice the 'Pentax AF' on the boxes ;)

Cheers!

The pricing for K10D is quite stable, not much changes, around $1250.

I'm guessing the 50-135mm around $1500-1600.

May I know how much is K10D with kit lens?

So far the price is quite stable for K10D. I think it is still around $1400+ with kit lens. Why not check with the shops?

Hi,
I got my K10D with kit lens plus the 75-300mm lens for $1,798 at the COMEX show. It also comes with extra goodies. I thought this was a good deal.
