Ah, so a salesperson convinced you to buy the Canon for his higher margins.

Did you even test the cameras before buying? Feel them and then decide on your own?

well..as a matter of fact..yes..sowwie , but i've already clicked a pic.. it has come out pretty nice.. i'll post them soon

since you have already bought it, just go out and shoot
don't worry too much about the tools

important thing is to know your tool well

Right on..and rightly said!!...
i'll start implementing it!:)

Guys..my decision just changed @ the shop.
Instead of the A-200 I bought the Canon 1000D with an extra lens, tripod, lens filter.
It came with a 8GB card Did i make a right decision?

You have made a decision, now live with the consequences. But with your buyer mentality you'll be "Sales men's best friend". I suggest you lock your wallet and all cards till you exactly know what you need and till you are able to counter any nonsense offers from sales guys. Otherwise they'll sell you shutter oil and mirror powder... :bsmilie:

Airport: you'll get into serious trouble if you try to snap the custom officers or any security-related equipment. Apart from that no issue. Check early with airline staff about tripod (if you have). Some airlines insist on checking in, others allow in cabin luggage.

Octarine..
suggestion taken, thank you very much!!:).. I got convinced with him as i had no experts besides me.. so i just bought it. Anyways I'll try to take maximum usage with the camera.. sometimes i'm feeling that was it such a bad decision.. i heard canons are one of the best cameras.

Yeah.. I wont click any security devices. :bsmilie: will just carry the camera. nope i wont be carrying my tripod though.

Guys!!! am back.. a new update-
I gave my new 1000D to my uncle.

So i'm out for a new DSLR now, i wanna stick to it now.. please suggest!!

How about a Nikon D700 with a AFS 24-70 2.8 lens?
:)

Highly recommend it.

Dude... go down to places like Harvey Norman or other big stores and feel the cameras first. Dun buy yet...

make sure you like the handling... then see if you'd like the whole system that comes along with it... lenses, flashes, etc...

I wanna be your next uncle ...... :bsmilie:

Joke aside, go read more, play more then decide which camera system that suits your budget and needs.

And becarefull, :nono: too many gear-heads including the salespeople will tell you how good the latest camera is and why you need it... :bsmilie:

Happy searching.

oh my budget would be 600$ to 700$.. slightly stretchable

wow dude, you got to slow down and stop spending although you love contributing to the economy in such tough times.

I say get the canon 450D for entry level. One alternative is to get the body only and get another lens (eg. Tamron or Canon), you could share the lens with your uncle.

Get a feel of the cameras as well, some may like it small and some big.

As what others said, the camera and lens is just a tool, it depends on the photographer to capture the right moments.

Slow down once again and don't be a sales person magnet.

Yes bro.. i'm slowing down.. so keeping a low pace.
AS mentioned I would be be able to share lens with him as he does not stay here, so need to buy a kit.
Canon 450D in my budget??!!! when, where, how??????:o

Sorry but it will be along the price of $1200 and below unless you get a second hand one.

It's all up to individuals..

I personally use Nikon because of the user interface (UI) but some prefer the UI of Canons... so it's pretty subjective.

What you'd want to do is to get a good feel of the different brands and see which feels more comfortable in your hands.

And why did you give away the Canon? Don't like the controls, colours? or??
