I am having trouble with the emjay website also.

Quite disappointed that there is no body only option, nor a kit with the DA 18-135 WR.

I guess Emjay needs to price it competitively and get the stock in soon before Nikon D7000 does, to prevent defection by the potential upgraders. I think D7000 is a tough competition for K-5 and look like a 60D killer.

Agree that the Nikon D7000 is a tough comptetion to the K-5.
B&H priced the D7000 to be US$400 cheaper than the K-5.
Hope the launch price of K-5 is lowered near to the D7000. ;p

i think it would be better if emjay would publish the estimated price for consumers to use as a guide (subject to change, of course) and post the actual price once the info is available.

:hammer: you are off track lah! Emjay is the local distributor. they cannot sell mainstream items at a price lower than RRP. no shop would buy from them if they did that.


the K-5 is a pre-order. hence, they are setting the market price with the pre-order. what i am unhappy about is that they didn't publish even an estimated price.

Its a rule and sometimes even mandated by the principle supplier overseas that official distributors must sell at their RRP price and leave it to their retailers to adjust accordingly. Otherwise the retailers will accuse them of undercutting their own market and the retailers lose their "lower price" advantage.

But take heart, a few months after the K5 and Kr are launched, i am pretty sure the price will drop just like in the K7-Kx case. ;p
