G'morning fellow Pentaxians, seeking advice from anyone on the above-named matter.
Thanks in advance

free photobucket account has bandwidth control,

that means, if a lot of people see your photos in a month, then once certain amount of viewing reached, your photo will temporarily not shown from all the links,

something like mobile plan, you got 10Gb of monthly data usage, once reached, they stopped data service, people need to go to the m1/starhub shop to view your photo.

Wow... I have to dig up my very old photobucket account to make sure it works. :)

Ok..

1. Click on your pict.
2. On the right side there is a "Share Links" and a few options.
3. Click the one called "IMG" (it should auto copy)
4. Paste it on the CS page where you are posting a reply.

Try it out and let us know if there are any more issues.

I have recently reverted to using my photobucket account again with the method described in the previous post. So far I am ok with it but in the past I did not like PB's performance - to many artifacts for me. Surely there is a better way I have just not figured one out for myself yet. What are some of the better alternatives?

You can edit your photobucket account setting after you logged in:
http://smg.photobucket.com/settings/album

Just check the "IMG code" option (to enable it). Then you'd see an IMG tag field under each of you photos (when shown in thumbnails) which has the needed tag info for your to copy-and-paste in your forum posts so to display the photos in your posts. You can "turn on easy linking mode" too if you like - to check that option in album settings.

I like photobucket and have been using them for more than 10 years. Now both their free storage and bandwidth have been increased to 10GB, more than enough for most users.

I have also experienced the same artifact problems with flickr as well I just haven't taken the time to go back and see if it is improved any...in fact now that I think about it flickr was even worse than PB as I recall...and don't even get me started on that CEO they have now and all her make us richer than we already are ideas and lan tui with you peons. I don't want to give you all a bad impression of myself but that women is a bit wack if you ask me...the Chinese might be onto something by banning her company...

Flickr is banned in China, that's why I don't use it.

Ha ha...
I see....
So thats a very practical reason indeed.

I always wondered why you have been using Photobucket for so long.
Looking at my photos that still there, I probably stopped using it 2yrs ago.

Ok... maybe your standards are higher.
So far, for me, its ok and its free.
Of course there is that Creative Commons (CC) thing and page layout thing that has caused many to be up in arms.

I always post photo in Chinese forums with flickr links,

never know they can't see the image. :o

Oh no please don't get me wrong I have a flickr too i'm just saying...the very best thing about flickr to me is the friends I have made there (only reason I stay on board)...maybe I will experiment with throwing my stuff up via flickr again and see what I think nowadays.

Anyone have a screen capture program handy and who is competent enough with photoshop to visually illustrate this for the gentleman? I don't have a screen cap installed currently or else I would lah.

No need to go to all that trouble, just take a look on youtube, odds are that someone's already made one.

Here's one of the more recent examples I could find:

The relevant portion starts at around 1:40.
