My brother in law took my wedding. He converted the mini DV to dvd but when i tried playing it on computer or even DVD player,no sound was heard.

What could have been the problem? He told me its Mpeg2 NTSC.Something like that. How can i recover the sound?

convert to PAL. sg system is using 25p pal. i think saving it to Mpeg is a data file. may need to re convert from mini dv liao.

Yeah reconvert to PAL avi or wmv or mov if your video camera is PAL in the first place ( it probably is ). Check your audio cables/soft switches/speakers etc. Some NLEs output default mpeg visual only.

As your bro in law to pass you the original DV tapes then drop me a line:
tommy@s3communications.com.sg

My company have a service to convert it into any files or formats you want for a small fee.

If i'm not wrong Kodak color centre provide the service of converting miniDVs to VCD or DVD..price is around ~$35

$20 per hour of tapes into any digital format on CD or DVD. We can also encode into VCD or DVD. We can give a 10% discount with 5 hours or more footages.

Definitely have to re-convert again. Switch to PAL and redo. I'm sure you still got the original tape right?
