Sama...sama....

Well, guys, in my opinion, you din really miss much. The lighting this year was quite bad, and SYZ's manager wasn't all too friendly. Most of us were shooting at ISO 1000 to ISO 1600 since we were specifically told that the press and official photogs were not allowed to use flash. (Though the audiences were flashing like crazy) Most of us felt that we had one arm tied behind our bags.

I don't think her performance was all that great either. Last year's was better. The higher the performer climbs the more star attitude you get.

i got speeds like 1/30, 1/45 at f/2.8 with ISO 1000. this is the first time i use my 50mm most of the way. really horrible lighting.

the concert wasn't very long either... definately more challenging than Impresario.

actually that's standard practice for most concerts... just have to hope and pray that the lighting is bright. one "bouncer" told us @ the Robbie Williams concert that the first one (official photogs, that is) who uses flash will be escorted out immediately and blacklisted.

throw in the fact that we're only allowed 3 songs to shoot and challenging becomes a whole new word. ;)

Yup yups, understands that since I take a lot of performance pictures myself. But sadly, the concert tonight didn't have enough light. In fact, I think the guy at the lights must be an imbecile.
They had a spotlight on her, but the light was so weak, that it was sickly pale on her. The stage lights keep flickering on and off probably because the guy at the controls wasn't familiar with the console.

It could have been a great experience for the photogs, if it was brighter. I was able to get a correct exposure most of the time, but the deep shadows and sickly lighting are probably going to spoilt the quality of the image.
