Haze really due to burning by farmers?

In Beijing, they seed the clouds when the PSI is hovering around 250 ......... can we do the same here? I don't think so ....... we have to save up for the upcoming NDP ........ :p

The monsoon and low pressure areas near the Philippines have sucked up our cloud cover.. we don't have enough low clouds to seed even if we wanted to

.....in that case ......better start issuing the face masks ............ :)

Correction... In most of china, the air pollution is still way better than what we are seeing in the past few days... I have been travelling to and fro China (namely Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan and Qingdao) and I have friends in other parts of China, we did not encounter this type of pollution... at least we can still see and breath properly.

It is not just about pollution. In China there is a standing rule that if the temperature hits 42 deg C, the state have to call a stop-work order. Magically, in summer some cities always maintain 39 deg C... even when our thermometers state otherwise...

which is quite ironic some morons posted on stupid remarks regarding Mr Balakrishnan's post.

they do not understand the part "We will keep cloud seeding option open, but for cloud seeding to work, we need clouds"

i even saw some posts on facebook ridiculing it without understanding what cloud seeding is exactly

while what he's saying seems like a "you don't say" meme, it is true. we need more clouds. right now, the sparse clouds are not viable for cloud seeding.

........the PSI fell miraculously from an all time high of 393 to 122 overnight ..............

....we are all gonna die .................. unless the government issues us gas masks .......

Soon the government should start issuing chemical warfare suit rather than just gas mask ;)

Aiyo, I grow up sleeping by road side (bencoolen street) as my grandparent house (rented shop house) is there. The haze is chicken feet to me la, haha!
Just don't do those things that lead to huge amount of intake of oxygen lor. ;p

Now... since our Singapore Flyer is not doing that well commercially... shouldn't we actually convert it into a massive fan to blow the haze away.:bsmilie:

Every 1st day of the month they sound the siren. Why now psi so bloody high they don't use it??

They spent so much money to have something with little or no utility erected ......only to spend a lot more to have it demolished ......
If you are thinking of converting the Singapore Flyer into a giant fan to blow away the haze then I would rather that they issue gas masks to all our citizens. The haze has now become an annual event........

heard news announced they finally quoted a figure $500m?

Actually this is a global problem. Global warming so bad, now still like that. What if natural disasters at Indonesia, should we help them since they are the creators?
