Happy Birthday Sulhan!

I've been away while ... so here's a special birthday treat for you.

I've beens speaking with some seriously knowlegable Minolta people who belive Sony will pick up the gauntlent and create something special.

The relationship had already been forged in 2005. Now Sony can tap into the Minolta innovation in a specialist area. Sony sensors + Minolta engineering and innovation will hopefully = a super camera.

I wrote to Gary Friedmann to outline my dismay of the announcement about the sale of Konica Minolta. Gary to my surprise was extremely positive about the future of our favourite camera. Not a hint of worry.

So there you go, this may well be a blessing in disguise.

Fingers crossed.

Best to you.

Hiee Pals...

I was thinking...an area that sony might be eyeing all along is the area of video equipment.
Canon have video systems that is capable to be attached to thier L lens.

Does sony have such solution?...anyone can advice.

Looks like they do not have currently. So developing a video system that is suitable for linkage to Dynax lens...G-lens maybe...one avenue for them to compete with canon.

Since they are developing an A-mount system...on video...leveraging it to Cameras or vice versa..would then be logical isn't it...

Well..just thinking aloud....

all the while i am wondering... can those cameras use 3rd party lenses instead of L lenses? and is it going to use it wide open? i dun understand videography, since its moving pictures, i dun think can select shutter rite, so only can control the aperture setting.. or is there a iso setting???

btw, happi birdday ar... so u got any new lenses?

Enough of lens for now....

Now slowly gearing up for "wired" flash. Beefed up my wired flash setup...
- OC-1100
- FS-1100
- OS-1100
- Cable EX (Need Two more)
- Cable CD
- Triple Connector
Mainly for my macro experiments...

Then i can offer a rental....of these stuff to DCA......hahahah :bsmilie:

Ah... The XL-series u mean?

To my best knowledge, no. Not even their latest range of HDV cams. But I handled one before, quite an interesting and sweet cam. Love the manual zoom ring. :)

With Minolta's camera division in their hands, this might be a possibility. The sale of lenses alone for video systems & cameras would put a substaintial bulk of moola into the bank for Sony. Plus with them supplying CCDs to Minolta earlier and Minolta's proprietary AS technology, combining it into their consumer & professional range of Video equipment might be a reality enough to challenge Canon.

But den again, I'm still dreaming of a FF Dynax 9D that cost below $4K.

HI DCA...

CABLE CD - use to connect two Flashes to fire together wired.
With an OC-1100 connecting from camera to 5600HS via FS-1100,
You can Use a Cable CD to connect the 5600HS(D) together via the side socket,
to fire at the same time. This therefore becomes a "bulky-But-useful" Setup for "imitating"
the macro twin flash 2400.

Cable EX - is basically extension cable. It can also go straight from the triple connector
to the 5600HS side socket. So now that i have one. If i have another two, three 56005400 can be connected and fired at the same time.
