Hands-on with Pentax K-r :)

ISO is nice but 12800 is still unusable..
i feel that the improvement over kx is about 1 notch..
meaning kr's 6400 = kx's 3200

Looks great! Fengwei's pink K-r buy for daughter or for wife? :bsmilie:

I think so.. Will wait for the poison by FW and Denis first ;)

Why wait, when you already know the outcome? ;)

nice.. pink is awesome...
how much did you pay for it ? wonder how long will it reach to the local stores....

wow Fengwei...as predicted you get the toys first! ;)

The ISO performance from the Sony sensor is really something. The uncropped image at ISO3200 is so clean! sigh...if only I held back buying the Kx previously but then again, the kx is not too bad either.

BTW, is that 2 cameras outside your drybox in your cabinet? Or was it your intention to replicate a Pentax Forum in your new home? :bsmilie: Your home looks nice and comfy.

Thanks Richard :)

Yes, I got two cameras in the display cabinet as seen in the photo. Both of them look very nice, but they are not working (although ebay sellers claimed they were in excellent working condition). You can see our display cabinet is still quite empty, these two cameras make very nice decorations ;)

very clean at high iso up to 3200, imho.

how is the DR at base iso?

Wah your apartment so nice!

Thanks for the superb initial evaluation, bro :)

And congatulations to you and your family on the recent shifting in to such a beautiful new home ;)

Certainly look forward to your evaluation of the K5 ;p

Great ISO performance
Thanks for sharing :)
Now waiting for K5 :bsmilie:

Matching pink kit lens this time around? Sweet...

IQ is as expected, but the crop on Denis face is.. well... unglam. Too much detail if you get my drift.:bsmilie:

Yeah, nostril hair alert! Aargh!

thanks for the demo. a good camera indeed. green body & lense would be good for macro. wouldnt scare away those skittish subjects.

can do some demo on macro? ;)

denis: waiting for your post on the kr in your blog

High ISO performance is easily already in the FF territory... and i just want to add... clean iso just changes the way one shoot... last time its always using flash... now, just iso1600/3200 and foucs on everything else... and most of the time, ambient light always looks better than using flash....

Yeah, nostril hair alert! Aargh!

I already saw them when we were talking yesterday night prior to your meetup with FW... hahaha. Just joking. ;p

FW, very nice house and very very nice KR iso performance.
Can I assume NR to be off for all the shots?

Thanks for doing the review. The nose-hair pics really bring out its hi IQ:sweatsm: You have a lovely home and kids - looks like a new flat in Sengkang.

Gonna to call the shops in FN to find out whether they have it in stock. Thanks again.

I notice your nice home and the cameras on the shelf more than the photos :D

Thanks for the great snap review.
Looks like detail retention and performance at ISO3200 is really good. Even noise at is very fine and even and not blotchy and digitalized which would be obvious signs of strong NR and sharpening. Good for doing B/W esp 6400 and above.
Personally ISO3200 would be my limit for color shots.

Look forward to the K5 review
