Handcuff for taking flood photos?

A week or so ago I think, Wanbao reported Mediacorp's actress Guo Hui Fen committed suicide by drinking bleaching solution. Later she clarified in Zaobao she was hospitalised due to food poisoning (or something), no apology or whatever so from Wanbao.

It really amused me the way some of you are "over-reacting" to the article. Wanbao is just tabloid, if you read it often enough, you will know it doesn't have much credibility. For those who think the police/govt/ministers need to defend/explain themselves just because of one article from Wanbao, you are just being... naive.

And you take the word of Zaobao as gospel? What you have here is two newspapers with contrasting claims, and from a neutral standpoint I fail to see how you can accept one over the other. The fact that Mr Guo clarified otherwise could be as much down to a PR damage limitation exercise. Of course, Ms Guo might just have suffered from food poisoning. Or something.

Maybe these are photos by some residents in the flood hit areas.
(I presume the photogs were not handcuffed for taking the photos within their own condo or electoral constituencies)

erm... can let us know why the police did not handcuff the guy who took the video... hand cuff the guy waving his hands in the middle of the road... and also hand cuff the bus driver for speeding and nearly mowing down a person on the street.

Oh, do not worry. Those people have been taken care of in... other ways.

Yes, the will be SOP to follow for every cases however get ur facts right before making such comment. There is no such thing like verifying with ops rm before making decision. PO only relay facts them. I believed that the PO had his grounds to restrain him otherwise he will nid to face the music.. no pt debating who is right or wrong as none of us were at scene at tt pt.

who should be getting the facts right?
i've seen PO calling back to station to check if how they should proceed with certain
complains, you think the PO was calling his mother? i'm sure many had seen that happened too.

Lol.. one pt u say call ops room the next pt u said station.. PO handling cases will only get direction from his team leader, OC, commanding officer, or investigator only if the case is sensitive or they had doubt.. not ops room or station.. I also said in my previous post that PO are relaying facts of the case (if u saw PO talking on the phone when handling the case) to ops room not getting direction from them..

Pls check the content of ur 1st post before replying.. seems tt ur r bias with police actions..

very commom la, there will always be pros and antis and the sometimes the pro are too pro while the anti will condemn the estab for every little thing that go wrong.

to digress, mark my word, if mr k hee from you know where is found guilty of you know what, those pros will say he has been framed:bsmilie:saw it happening before...

While it is easy to say that the PO was high handed, looking at the picture from the link in post #132, if the photographer was standing on the manhole and than walking along the side of the road, it is a dangerous and the PO have every right to ask him to move away from there. While most of the photographers are professional enough to know where they stand, some of the photographers from the "smaller papers" think that just because they have a "PRESS" pass, they are above the law. Sadly, the press do have power over public opinion and though the PO may be right, it will likely end up with them saying sorry, this have happen before.

yeah man... whatever happens, there will always be people who support or ar against the certain matter. so what we can do is to take everything we read with a pinch of salt or when we know the facts of matter, only then, we can judge for ourselves.

PEACE!:)

excuse me but sorry. you do not seem to be familiar with police work. as mentioned, you saw them calling back to station. FYI, they have PR sets and do not have to use their personal phones. BUT, did you manage to hear their conversation or at the very least, the one sided conversation? Even if they were checking how to proceed with certain complaints, I feel tt it is justified, as every case can be different and you cannot handle every similar case in the same way as other previous cases.

pardon me if i'm rude, but you do seem biased against the Force

i agree, whats wrong if newbie POs to check back with high ranks before proceeding? even if old bird POs, they dont experience all situations, whats wrong with confirming with high ranks for the correct procedure?
