Wishing all ClubSnappers a Happy Chinese New Year!! May you all have a prosperous year ahead! 恭喜发财,心想事成!
Here's one of my shots that was on Flickr Explore. No idea how this Explore thing works, or who selects it, but apparently many people on Flickr liked this shot a lot.
If only the glass of the Circle Line train could be cleaner, and also not tilted at an angle.
This was a tough one to shoot due to the strong winds blowing in my direction that night. I had to cover my lens most of the time, and open only when I felt the wind was calm enough not to blow any water on to my lens and quickly shoot the lights.
I thought I was done shooting, and was preparing to leave to go home and sleep again, when I noticed this egg yolk that just emerged from behind the clouds. Luckily, i brought my 85mm prime lens and managed to capture this shot with it.
Lesson learnt: Never be in a hurry to leave after shooting.
People always ask me why I'm willing to sacrifice my sleep on a Saturday morning to wake up and shoot the sunrise. I guess I just love the peace and calmness of the early morning, with no crowd to disturb you. Anyway, I would usually go back to sleep after shooting, unless I'm too excited and will start processing my photos immediately.
It's been a few weeks since I last shot landscapes, busy with other stuff. As a result, I missed many spectacular sunsets and sunrises, only able to shoot them with my phone. Today, I finally had the time to catch the sunset, and the weather seemed good enough. At 5 plus when I started driving, the light and clouds were amazing but I was a long way from my destination. When I finally arrived at Lower Peirce Reservoir, all the dark clouds have started to block the sun and I only managed to get one decent photo. Oh wells, hope for better luck next time!
