[Hak] Exploring Singapore

I waited for quite some time to get this shot, waiting for the right person to stand at the right spot, blocking the spotlight to create a backlight, and remaining still enough for my 4 seconds exposure. The long wait paid off as I finally got the shot I wanted, and the lady walked away right after my shutter closed at the end of the 4 seconds. Job done.

Well worth the wait.

The mood here is excellent!

I thought maybe there would be less photographers around on a weekday, but I was wrong. It was impossible not to include any of them in my frame, I wonder how crowded it is on a weekend.

It was a windy afternoon and the clouds were moving fairly quickly. At one point of time, the dark clouds that covered the sun looked like a really huge bird.

Chingay @ Heartlands 2014 - Simei
Walked out of my house to shoot the floats that were driving past for Chingay.

I think this was my 4th time here for a sunrise, and finally I get good weather after 3 failed attempts.

After a very hot day, the blue hour was really clear and beautiful.

An earlier version of the previous shot, when the sun was still up. I was a little surprised to find more than 10 other photographers here at this location, and coincidentally, the 4 photographers sitting beside me all happened to be using the same lens as me.

Great shots as always. And I admire your perseverance.

I didn't plan to shoot here initially, didn't even bring my tripod, just a clamp. But after visiting the IT show at MBS, my friends wanted to get away from the crowd, so we ended up walking here. The water was a lot calmer before the blue hour, but I'm still satisfied with the reflections here. I ended up clamping my camera to my friend's tripod to shoot.

I have wanted to shoot at this location quite some time back but it was closed, but now it's finally reopened again. :)

My last shoot here before I fly off to Paris and Iceland! A really tough one to process since I blended about 30 exposures together for the light trails. I was afraid my computer could not take it and crash! Thanks Catchlights for giving me and my friends a lift out of this secluded place! :)

Nice meeting all of you. :)
Don't mention that, I took public transport to that place before, it is really a pain waiting for the bus.

nice blending of the light trails, 30 over layers shouldn't be an issue, I ever stack 300 over layers, no problem at all, but have problems doing auto align, have to leave the computer process thru the whole night, crash a couple of times, finally succeed after trying a few days.

anyway, here is my timelapse of this place.

Beautiful timelapse!

Woah 300? Whenever I click save I have to wait for ages, so I rarely save. But my computer has some graphic cards problem that causes photoshop to hang once in a while, so I have no choice but to click save every now and then to play safe.

use keyboard Ctrl S or create an action with assign a function key will make quick save easier.
