Buy house have to pay GST or not? If so, jialat liao!

During the election, I heard a few friends said "Better vote for P-A-P, else later they see we never vote for them in our ballot slips we may get into trouble with the govt!"

Hahaha, it is really silly but whoever the clowns who spread such rumours really made this scare into one effective deterrent for some people who comtemplated voting for the oppositions.
Ironically, nobody thought of this until JBJ Jeyaratnam raised that issue of 'anonymous vote' at Parliament in the 80s and maintains constantly that YOUR VOTES CAN BE TRACED. :bsmilie:

Blaming the ruling incumbent for this 'false rumour'? What else are ppl going to blame the ruling incumbent for? Their constipation problems as well? :dunno:

Lax lah. They trying to catch up with the other country. High tax mah.. So they can have bonus. But yet, we are not given priviledge but to give them part of the money. And how is the helping of poor going to work? No idea. What package? An ID to show:"I Poor, No GST pls". Like that counterfiet pass come out.

Gharment only squeeze us, not helping us. This is sure a letdown of ppl losing confident alr. We may have the luxury of using comp at home, but, how abt in next few years? Can we bloody afford it? Everything also wanna control. Ppl wanna oral XXX also wanna control. Whats freedom? Hmm.... Sound like another Ghetto.
What's ur definition of freedom?

To do anything as and when u please without fear of retribution?

Start seeing how the cycle of economics work as countries develop on capitalist models like US, Japan, us and some countries in SEA are taking step-by-step towards.

Eventually, it will all end up in the same pot - Life's gonna get harder and not easier where everyone's gonna be in the same ditch of shit. Its merely a matter of 'soon-or-later'.

Ultimately guys, how are YOU ALL gonna handle the shit's that inevitably gonna land on u?

dkw: What chapter was that? Daniel? Or izzit Exodus? Haven't read the Bible for like 8, 9yrs liaoz. ;p
taxes asided.. other countries have better freedom, more vibrant political system, more leeway for negotiations, freedom of speech, better press publication and much much more. In sg, all i can do is worry "if I do this I might be violating some law" "oh I can't do that..." "nope.. that's against the law" "cannot take photos of that building else jsbn will ask me go coffee in his office"

Recently, a local team sent a car to thailand for a car audio competition and came out tops. I doubt they could have made it big here as this car would have been proven too flashy with all the glowing lights ala fast and furious, would have been fined till his pants dropped here.

Every little increment is small. Fare hikes? small lah only few cents, GST? small lah only 2%, what next? small increments adds up. These 'tiny' increments can add up to a substantial $100-200 a month, and how much yearly increment to I get? lesser than that or NONE.

****, GST keep increasing but our CPF employer contribution never went back.;(

Robin Hood aka 'gahmen' suddenly come out from his cave and try to save the countrymen from poverty. And dear CS lads, please stop comparing ourselves with other countries. It doesnt really make any difference to our lives. The gahmen plan many years ahead and this was part of their 'sound' plan. You 'average income' citizens are just a form of obstacle to them reason being you people complain the most. Voicing your opinion is fruitless. The gahmen doesnt need your opinion, they just need you to agree with them. Its that simple.

I dont mean to put you guys down but lets face it, someone here mentioned, Upset but Accept Singaporeans? I believe this has been the situation for years. The management style in $ingapore has always been a divide and conquer. So do you have the balls to march down to the parliament house and start a demonstration? Please be my guest. If you people want to make a difference, lets start with the next elections. But if they gahmen suddenly give you people sudden 'ang pows' again, you should know what to do.

I hope all our financially challenged friends are able to see this through and we can do our part to help them too. If the gahmen cant help us (which they never will until nearing elections), we can always help one another. So hang in there folks. Its not the end of the world yet.

If it hits one so hard, cut down! I see so many chaps here on the BBB virus that I truly wonder if they were to eliminate or at least downsize the BBB it probably wun be as bad. ;p

You don't need Death Note to make people kena heart attack or die at train stations, all you need to do is raise the cost of living, can liao. :bsmilie:
HAHA! Good one Francis! I love deathnote too. yea, nowadays why need deathnote?!?! just raise tax rates, or transport costs, or whtever. then soon, mrt tracks need to paint red. why? cuz too costly to clean up. x(

anyway, for people who want to know what deathnote is about, it is actually a manga. yepps, you can download it from www.dn.jeremyko.com xD (and click the links!)

sian la, really dunno these days wht im studying for. singapore seriously has reach saturation point. study biz admin now also no use, need to go overseas start biz den can make money la.

life in sg sucks

Cut back on your spending, so that you would pay less GST annually.

Public transport has gone up and no doubt it will continue to go up once the additional 2% GST kicks in.

If Singapore is so developed, perhaps it take the cue from a city like London where any kid below 14 can travel FREE at any time on the buses (below 11 on the Underground) and the older and disabled travel FREE as well. After all it is not that the transport operators here aren't profitable, if anything they are raking in record profits thanks to the likes of the fare increases approved by a certain authority. Such a move will ease the burden on many struggling families.

To me it is a heart issue. More concerted effort can be done to ensure that nobody gets left behind in this society. After all this is a country that has a pretty astronomical economic surplus. Unfortunately the key word is "cost recovery" so you can bet this GST hike is gonna make an even bigger gap in the quality and cost of essential services.

CPI measurement lor. the more we spend, the better the economy is. i forgot the formulae liao.. think is C + I + G + X - M. is tax really better for the country ? i am not sure also. supposingly it 'generate's income but the income goes to where? but at this rate, i think i better dont buy so much things liao as my dispensable income isnt that alot. really sian. i think garment here trying to imitiate other countries lor. the GST charges are relatively lower to other countries (i think Korea is more than 10% im not sure also) but the benefits overall here are dimmer by the years.

everything also increase in price 'cept someone was asking me earlier how come the CPF contribution never change back to 20% for the employer. i dunno why im working anymore. if its just about feeding myself and a roof over my head, i might as well be a farmer? nb..

I believe it is due to the how every election many areas are not contested. The remaining ones... well seems there is a urban myth that plays to the ruling party's advantage. The myth is that you vote is not secret, and that the party can trace who you voted for. One of the few things that contributed to the myth is the presence of serial numbers on each voting slip.

The myth goes like this, if you are civil servant, you will get blacklisted and no promotion if you vote for opposition, if you are normal citizen, you will be put on a watch list and listed as possible security risk (or disloyal to nation) and hence barred from govt jobs.

That is why you have so many people who are unhappy but during elections when you ask them who you voted for that is if they have a chance to vote. "Of course *** lah!!! Voting Slip got serial number.. later vote against them, get arrested or become bankrupt like Chee!!"

hence this fear makes people vote for ruling party whether they like it or not.

Who knows.. they are the ruling party.. They are the game master. They are the great strategist. U never know 'THE DARK SIDE' *evil laugh WU WU HA HA HA
