I understand the flickering is normal....but wat about the pinkish purplish streak of light that stretched across my display from the light source where my camera is pointed at...i realised that thiss happens at natural light also...not only flourescent...sometimes after point at the light source for a while the pinkish streak will go off...but sometimes when the light is too strong, the streak will not go away...(eg in a car when i am shooting the front seat and the light from the windows beside the car seat will cause this streak too)...do u guys get this streak of pinkish light on your display too?

I read that this is common for compact camera's lcd. I do not see it much of a quirk though, since it does not affect results. After a while of usage, you'll find that you can guess the result accurately despite the streak.

Yep don't worry go and shoot more and share your pics with us soon! :)

Hi, anybody now get an idea where I can get a GRD Red color ring? I am willing to pay higher price for it. Can anybody help?

Haha, I'm just curious how you got it in Singapore! :p Or did you go to Japan?

I got it from Alan foto Funnan. probably the one n only set. was looking for a cheap GRD 1 , but ended up with this. Thought it's a refreshing change after owning both black GRD 1 n II. there is one store beside cathay photo that still slells the limited edition...but they really chop u real hard.

I have the similar problem as you. I bought my GRII few months ago, and I was wondering if I had bought a faulty set. Anyone can further shed light on this, if there's any way to rectify this?

apparently those are just light spectrums that are normal from all light sources..just that its not captured or visible to the human eyes. i was initially quite worried too but it doesnt affect the pictures taken. i remember the first set i tried dun seem to have this problem but it had a scratch on the flash shoe so i chose the 2nd set which end up having this problem...but some cameras have this problem and some dun...so i just decided to live with this set .

is there any way to check for front focusing or back focusing issue for the GRDII...i have taken some shots and it seems to me so far the shots are some what a little lacking in the sharpness......

Most of the time when i am shooting in auto mode ...the aperture is always at 2.4, 2.8 or 3.2...its always around the wider range even when i am shooting in bright daylight. is this normal?

Care to post samples of this with the exif data? It does not sound normal to me, especially under bright lights.
When I set the camera to program auto for example, under bright daylight during noon time will probably nett me a result of F7.1, 1/500s or something close @ ISO80.

If you think that the pics have a focusing issue, the best way is to post here for everyone to see or contact the excellent customer service for Ricoh in Singapore (Maybe send them the photos you think have an issue and maybe send down the camera for a checkup). I have dealt with them before, and I have been the most impressed with their customer service (am also a Nikon user for my SLRs)

I am using a macbook...previously when i view the pictures of my dslr, the exif of the pictures can be view in the info panel of my macbook...i realise for there is no exif info for the pictures captured by the grdII..may i know is that normal or is there any setting to capture the exif in the camera?

The Exif info is captured. I'm using OSX on a mac too. Open preview and use the inspector, all the exif info should be intact.

As for your pics, its hard to really gauge the focusing problems given the small size posted. The lens on the GRD2 is very very sharp for a 28mm FOV.

up so late? i think for landscape shots its mostly okay...its just with people and portrait....sometimes..it just really looks out of focus

hi exiledbummer, i would suggest u try taking pictures of lesser items... e.g putting about 4 figurines in a row and another shot with figurines arranged in a way where one is slightly nearer to the camera to test the dof... hope this helps!

Just sharing.

ringflash(i'm aware of the voltage risk) + semi-fisheye lens.

Yikes, how much volts is that ringflash packing? Hmm that being said, I'm wondering if my old SB-25 can work ok mounted on the GRD2 :P
