manage to find a nice pouch for GR Digital to use.

its in japanese, anyone understands and know how to order from them?

i tried emailing them, but no reply from them.

guess maybe they don't understand english or knows how to reply in english.

here is the webby

How about a matching leather wrist strap too? I'd prefer a simple black with brown velvet/suede inner.

Saw this lovely handmade strap on flickr, maybe can get the person to make for sale?

That looks like a simple enough canvas case, pretty costly at 4800yen! Maybe you can seek to custom make one at Fabrixcases or iLappy. Hope this helps.

So, what cases are you guys using for your GRs? I'm using a Porter Jpn case (think it's for DSlite), fits well, able to attach carabiner, storage for extra sd cards. Looking for a good case/bag to bring the GR with external lens around. Btw anybody interested in a brandnew original Ricoh GR case?

For the moment I thought I was sold on the GRD, I saw the pana LX3 thread. The IQ for that camera was imo better at bottom ISO, for almost $250 cheaper a 16:9 aspect ratio... It did seen like a better camera in terms of IQ.

But after I downloaded a few grd2 raw samples I am going to go with the ricoh. I cannot believe I am saying this, but I really like the grain structure in the higher ISO samples after converting to black and white.
And to think I hated noise on my D40 and will usually eradicate them totally from my pictures.

The grd2 seen to handle b&w very well. It does not seen to have a good dynamic range being a compact but it has this quality I couldn't put words for. I just really like the results I am seeing with the samples I got playing with simple conversion techniques.

I am a believer, and will get a GRD2 at comex next week. Hope they have a good package. I however have questions about the accessories. =) Please bear with me.

1) The GV-2 seen to be awfully expensive. I could just get something abit cheaper like the Voigtlander 28/35mm mini viewfinder from chiif. I have however never use an optical viewfinder before being new to photography. Is the coverage of the GV-2 100%? For some reason, I suspect it is unlikely, but am curious to know.

2) I am interested in 4:3 aspect ratio photography and will definitely like an option for a 4:3 viewfinder instead, but decided against the gv-1 atm because it's obviously off-center. Are there any alternatives? PS: I know the GV-2 is 3:2.
The GV-1 is still probably a good option, but how are the owners coping with the off center viewfinder so far?

3) Have anyone use a Nikon SB400 with the GR-Digital? Being on a nikon system, I think it's the most logical step for external flash.

In advance, thx a mil!

Hi all. Our local craftsmen can't do the job. ( I am referring to a design similar to A&A's )
The one who can charged $230 each for a total of 8 pieces.
Anyone going Japan any time soon? :bsmilie:

wow...that's a crazy asking price

I thought so too. Might as well ship it from Japan.
So...anyone here going japan soon?

can't believe that it cost as much as those in japan and with brand

The boss who quoted the price say we need to hire a drafter ( he got lobang) to come out with the design and shape. (like the architect)
He himself is the contractor which will follow the drawings and source for the materials (I requested him to get us thick durable black or brown cow leather for the skin , inner-case with a dust-free cushion) and come out with the 1st sample to follow up with.
After that he will need to cut and stitch all by himself due to the small quantities we ordered.
So all this for 230 do make some sense to me but if its that expensive might as well we buy directly from japan ya.
haha

Btw if you are looking for a pouch to hold our babies for the time being I recommend the soft sunglasses holder. The cloth is good to prevent scratches, cleans the Lcd screen as well and it fits nicely. :)

I use the velvety feeling black pouch that came with my Olympus Mju-II to hold the GRD2. If you have that camera lying ard, it makes for a perfect case where you can fit it in and put it in your jeans pocket or side pocket. Not much protection though from any hard knocks :)
